JACK RUSSELL’S GREAT WHITE STREAM “SHE MOVES ME” AND “BLAME IT ON THE NIGHT”

As previously reported, Jack Russell’s Great White will release, He Saw it Comin’, on January 27th, 2017.

Stream the songs She Moves Me and Blame It On The Night, from the forthcoming release, below.

“For me this is so much more than a collection of songs, it is the culmination of a lifetime of living. It is about addictions, love, pain and many facets of the human condition. I tend to write autobiographically and on this album I dealt with topics I’ve never explored,” explains Russell of the new record.”

“We want the new material to blow people’s ears back,” Russell goes on. “It has the elements of the best of Great White, but there’s diversity, vibe and an edge to it. It draws from our 60’s and 70’s roots in a more modern way.” Montana agrees, “It’s got the classic sound. The first element is Jack’s voice. No other band sounds like this one, ever did or does now. When I was 17-years-old, I remember walking around the UCLA campus listening to the band’s first EP. I was a fan before I ever joined the band. We’re going to maintain that integrity moving forward.”

SEBASTIAN BACH REVEALS THAT ACTRESS CHRISTINA APPLEGATE DITCHED BRAD PITT FOR HIM

Sebastian Bach’s autobiography, 18 And Life On Skid Row, was released on December 6th, and the singer is currently on a publicity tour. While visiting Elliot In The Morning, the singer recounts how actress Christina Applegate ditched her date, Brad Pitt, for him at the 1989 MTV Movie Awards.

Bach says, “”She was interviewed recently on Entertainment Tonight [Dana’s note: it was Watch What Happens Live! With Andy Cohen] or something, and they asked, ‘What was the dumbest thing you ever did?’ And she goes, ‘One night I ditched Brad Pitt for this other dude.’ And that dude would be me. So there was a time on this earth when Sebastian Bach was, like, a hotter lay than Brad Pitt. Of course that’s going in the book. I’ve gotta tell somebody that!”

Bach recently stated that there were discussions underway regarding his possible return to Skid Row, who are currently touring with former Dragonforce singer ZP Theart as guest vocalist.

Bach said, “All I can tell you is we’re not getting any younger, folks. Let’s put the hair band back together while we’ve got hair.

SIRIUS/XM PRESENTS ANTHRAX AND KILLSWITCH “KILLTHRAX” CO-HEADLINING SPRING 2017 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

Thrash legends Anthrax and Metalcore forefathers Killswitch Engage announce today that they will hit the road this Spring to co-headline a 27-date North American tour, presented by SiriusXM. The bands’ itinerary will also include an April 15th appearance at the Texas Independence Festival in Austin as well as each band headlining two solo shows separate from the double bill. With KSE and Anthrax rotating the closing slot over the course of the dates, the tour will hit the ground on March 29th in Montclair, NJ and then criss-cross the continent, wrapping up in Boston on May 7th. The intense and dynamic The Devil Wears Prada will provide direct support on all dates. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, 12/16 at 10AM local time. Log on to anthrax.com, killswitchengage.com or tdwpband.com for all details regarding ticket purchasing and pre-sales.

For Anthrax, these dates are in support of the band’s critically-celebrated 11th album, For All Kings (Megaforce), released last February. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, 2016 has been action-packed for Anthrax. For All Kings debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart and #9 on the Billboard 200, the band’s second Top 10 chart entry. Two striking music videos made with director Jack Bennett, one over-the-top grizzly, the other an innovative stop-motion piece, an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers that paired the band with the iconic Robert De Niro, and sharing stages with bands like Iron Maiden, Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold, and fellow Big Four members Slayer, were just a few of the highlights.

“Anthrax and Killswitch will be a really good blend for fans,” said Anthrax’s Charlie Benante. “We both play metal, but we play two different forms of the genre. I think fans of both bands are in for a ‘Total Explosion of the Senses.'” Added the band’s Frank Bello, “This Anthrax/KsE tour is a powerful ball of energy ready to unleash the metal in the U.S. “Anthrax and Killswitch – KillThrax! Holy crap!,” said Scott Ian. “I am so excited about these upcoming shows with our old friends Killswitch Engage. Get out your pit pants and start stretching now for all the glorious action and fun!”

Killswitch Engage released the universally regarded Incarnate (Roadrunner) this past March, which debuted #6 on the Billboard 200, and #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Album chart. 2016 also saw KsE appearing on a Stars Wars-themed Revolver cover, staging an unforgettable and intimate, five-club NYC takeover for album release week, and embarking on an impressive Incarnate World Tour. On November 25th, the band released Beyond the Flames: Home Video Vol. II on Blu-ray, a treasure trove of gripping content, containing over 3.5 hours of footage. At the heart of this release is a 75-minute documentary that chronicles the return of original vocalist Jesse Leach, after nearly a decade away, to the band he helped form back in 1999. It picks up right where their 2005 {Set This} World Ablaze release left off, revealing the rest of the untold KsE story.

KsE singer Jesse Leach echoed Anthrax’s enthusiasm about the upcoming trek, saying. “We are so stoked to tour with thrash legends Anthrax! We are sure this will bring a powerhouse of a live show with the combination of both bands. This is, hands down, the most excited we’ve been to tour alongside a band in a long while. This will be one you won’t want to miss. KillThrax is coming for you!!!!”

FORMER PANTERA BASSIST REX BROWN DISCUSSES HIS FORTHCOMING SOLO ALBUM

Former Pantera, and Down, bassist Rex Brown was a recent guest on Eddie’s Sirius/XM, Trunk Nation. Brown discussed his forthcoming solo album, read highlights from interview below (as per blabbermouth.net).

On how the solo project came to be:

“I went to [the] NAMM [convention in Anaheim, California] last year, and I have a really good friend, this songwriter, Lance Harvill — a great songwriter and just killer guitar player. And we started putting together songs. And it’s just one of those things, I feel free again…And the material on this is as good as anything I’ve ever done.”

Discussing why he decided to record the record in Tennessee:

“Nashville has become this hotbed of super-cool people. You go to L.A. and you ask somebody to play on your record and they go, ‘How much?’ without playing a note. F–k you! Nashville, there’s just this community that welcomed me in. I lived at [producer] Caleb [Sherman]’s place; he’s got a huge spread.”

On whether Kill Devil Hill have any plans in the coming months:

“That’s something we’re gonna figure out here before the holidays. The options are open on that one. But I’ve got to do this [solo project] right now.”

BLACK SABBATH GUITARIST TONY IOMMI TO UNDERGO SURGERY FOR A LUMP IN HIS THROAT

Tony Iommi is to undergo surgery to have a lump removed from his throat, just in case it’s cancerous.

The Black Sabbath icon will receive treatment before the final leg of the band’s farewell tour begins next month.

He was told in August that his cancer was in remission after revealing in 2012 that he’d been diagnosed with lymphoma.

Now he’s recalled how his illness, combined with the disagreement that led drummer Bill Ward to leave the band, came close to shutting them down.

Iommi tells the Irish Times, “I went for a check four weeks ago and the doctor said that, at the moment, there’s no activity where I had the cancer before – but there is activity in the throat.

When I get back to England I have to have an operation to remove this thing at the back of my nose. The doctors found a lump and we don’t know if it’s cancer or what. But I feel okay at the moment.”

The guitarist has previously confirmed that his health is one of the main reasons Black Sabbath are retiring. He says, “I was knocked for six when doctors told me it was stage-three cancer. It really did change my life as far as what I have to do now. I have to live what life I’ve got. I’ve been on the road for nearly 50 years – I need to be at home more and I need to pay more attention to my friends and family.”

He describes the experience of being told he had cancer as “the lowest moment” and says it was different from the factory accident that left him with two fingertips missing from his right hand, which took place when he was a teenager.

“The thing with the fingers, you can carry on,” he reports. “But with cancer you just don’t know. You don’t know how long you’re going to be here and how bad it’s going to get.”

Black Sabbath will complete their last shows without original drummer Bill Ward, who dropped out of the reunion that was announced five years ago, saying he hadn’t been offered a contract he felt was “signable.”

Iimmi says, “It’s a shame Bill wasn’t involved. What can you do? It’s one of those things that happened. It just got silly. He got into a legal battle with the management, pulled out and did not come back. It was very difficult. Also, we were concerned about how Bill was going to play and he was going to handle things. Then, of course, I came down ill. It was almost falling apart and we pulled it back together. Bill made his choice not to do it, and that was that.”

Iommi recently said it was possible that Black Sabbath could continue in a less active form after the farewell tour. Asked about making another album he says, “We haven’t talked about it. This is my view thinking it would be nice. At the moment I think there’s call for a bit of time off. I think anything is possible, if people want to do it. It is the end as far as touring is concerned.”
