ORIGINAL KISS GUITARIST ON HIS FORMER BANDMATE GENE SIMMONS: “I DON’T THINK HE MAKES ANY SENSE”

Acefrehley400 Ace Frehley believes Kiss bassist Gene Simmons has “alienated just about everybody on the planet” with his recent comments on depression, addiction and poverty. And the guitarist has predicted his former colleague could next turn on gay people – all because he doesn’t understand the human condition.

His comments stem from Simmons’ incendiary comments about depression, when he claimed his message to anyone preparing to take their own lives was, “Fuck you, then kill yourself.” He later apologized for his statements.

Now Frehley tells Artisan News Service, “First he attacks immigrants, then he belittles poor people by saying, ‘Be nice to the rich people because we’re the ones that give you jobs.’ Then he attacks people with depression, alcoholics, drug addicts. The only thing left for him to do is to attack the whole gay movement. I’ve heard him do that in private, so that’s probably still yet to come.”

The guitarist argues Simmons isn’t as clever as he likes to think. “I don’t think he makes any sense,” he reflects. “He prides himself on being such an intellectual, he brags about being able to speak seven languages, but when it comes to being knowledgeable about the human condition – depression is a very serious disease.

I’ve suffered from it, I know my daughter suffers from it. Alcoholism is a disease, so is drug addiction; it’s the disease of addiction. Many people are born that way – and Gene just seems ignorant of that whole fact. I think it’s time for Gene to go back to school and get educated in the health field.”

you know ace, i think gene full well about addiction It”s called greed that”s why he joined forces with you and peter back in96. how else could he maintain his life without those tours?and he never spoke bad about you guys while the tours were so successful did he?i”m sure that his depression would have set in ,if you both laughed in his face back then .as far as povert well, i”m sure he would never be poor but, he never would have never made a quarter of his riches without peter, paul and your talents.

I agree, my own son suffers from it and he is only 7. It is a devastating illness that if not recognized and treated can lead to all manner of trouble, and yes even suicide. It should be at the forefront of modern day health care issues but it is not. I’m not sure what led Gene to make those comments but clearly like ace says, he does not understand the human condition.

The drug rehab business is a multi-million dollar industry, I don’t really trust alot of what they do or say. Their philosophy is to treat every case the same way pretty much; people don’t operate that way. I think it’s important here too, to demarcate clearly between mental illness, which is hereditary, and depression.

Ace HAS to know Gene doesn’t have anything against gay people…
Bill Acoin and Sean Delaney (who produced Gene’s solo album) were both gay. I’ve never seen any evidence that Gene has a problem with gay people. I DO agree Gene is out of touch with the human condition–some people are like that.
Interesting–many who are taking shots at Gene have their own skeletons in the closet and those haven’t been addressed properly.

I have read Gene making back handed comments about gays. I’m sure Ace has heard Gene and the others say some real messed up things in the past(human nature). As far as acoin goes he and Delaney were making the band money and we all know Gene’s feelings about that. Gene planned to go to school to be a Rabbi and like ministers they are not he most open minded people.

Well, you have a good point. You could be right about that. Good argument but my heart tells me a different story.

Well, what if someone, anyone, says something about the gay political agenda, and they have one, they contributed heavily to Obama, all of the sudden they’re anti-gay? And here is something from their agenda: Seriously disciplining 7 year olds, even to the point of expulsion from school for saying anti-gay remarks, or bullying someone who might be gay. So, if I have a problem with that, then I am anti-gay? I would say what total b.s…..since when does it matter what a 7 year old says, my God, I had long hair as a kid and I have a girl’s name, I got so much crap as a kid, it was this endless stream of constant teasing….did I want to punish any of them? Absolutely not. That’s life.

Many things were kept secret when it came to Bill, who in there right mind would mention anything once the money started coming …. Gene ? Paul left a pretty hefty paragraph of what kind of man Bill really was in his book as he was often seen w/ young teenage boys in hotels.

Donald Sterling makes racist comments and gets banned for life. Al Sharpton makes racist comments and gets his own show!

You don’t fully understand the Donald Sterling scenario do you?
