People Magazine reports that Malcolm Young’s family has confirmed news that the AC/DC guitarist is suffering from dementia.
“Malcolm is suffering from dementia and the family thanks you for respecting their privacy,” his family said in a statement to People.
A Young family connection said: “If you were in the room with [Malcolm Young] and walked out, then came back in one minute later, he wouldn’t remember who you are. He has a complete loss of short-term memory. His wife, Linda, has put him in full-time care.”
In April, the group announced that Young was taking a break due to ill health.

Most people have sympathy and/or empathy for others,but sometimes famous people’s trouble’s/illnesses hurt your heart. For me, AC/DC members fall into the later.
Just keeping good thoughts for him. I have lost of friends in the footnall world to this disease……it is a very hard and disturbing way to see someone you personally know that had a successful life shrivel down to a Babies mental state……completely sad and heartbreaking….

My Grandfather had it and it was truly heart breaking watch my hero go like that! Gotta be such a gut/heart wrenching thing what his family is going through right now. He is not taking a break from music cause there know coming back from it sadly enough as it is
