ANTHRAX’S CHARLIE BENANTE TAKES THE ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE

Anthrax - 2011 When Anthrax headlined the Rock Al Parquet 2014 Festival in Bogota, Colombia, the band’s drummer Charlie Benate took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge – in front of more than 140,000 screaming fans.

Mike Portnoy had challenged Charlie, and he accepted, in large part because Mike Wright, the father of his friend Brandon Wright, has had ALS for 10 years – so this was personal.

Bandmates Joey Belladonna and Frank Bello did the dousing, and afterwards Benante nominated Philip H. Anselmo, Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser and music producer Jay Ruston, who produced Anthrax’ Worship Music, to do the challenge.

Anthrax’s live DVD, Chile On Hell, will be released on September 16th through Megaforce.

  1. ALS is a terrible and extremely sad disease and awareness and the need for a cure needs to be raised. Anyone that hasn’t seen the film JASON BECKER: NOT DEAD YET needs to. He’s battled ALS for over 20 years. It’s very inspiring how brave he is.

  2. This is news ? Sorry Eddie but I think this may be why Paul Stanley doesnt want to come on your show. This is only attention seeking, theres nothing rock n roll about it. If your rich make a quite donation and 10 years from now people who find out will respect you more for it . 90 % of people who will see this nonsense don’t even know what ALS stands for. Eddie love ya but , if I want TMZ news I will go to TMZ.com Stick to rock n roll !

    1. To me it just seems ( and this is my opinion ) and yes I do believe ALS to be a good cause however, this is more about what’s trending and who can get some attention from it . This is TMZ material to cover and not so much Eddie Trunk. I mean Eddie you missed some very successful albums this year ( for one, Monster Magnets ” Last Patrol ” ) instead your covering stuff like this.
