UNCLE TED SLAMS THE ROCK HALL OF FAME CALLING IT “VUGLAR, DISHONEST AND OBSCENE”

Ted Nugent has slammed the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for failing to include him amongst its inductees.

In an interview with MyGlobalMind the veteran guitarist bemoans his exclusion and questions the “obscene” inclusion of pop and hip hop acts.

“Its sacrilege, it’s ultimately disrespectful and cruel to Chuck, Bo, and Little Richard and all the founding fathers in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” says Nugent. “Because the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame means something and I don’t have to explain to you because you know, and you don’t have to explain it to me.

Abandon egos, bragging, and Ted Nugent speaking on behalf of Ted Nugent; is it or is it not vulgar, dishonest, and obscene that Grand Master Flash, Patti Smith, and ABBA are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but Ted ‘F–king; Nugent isn’t?

Is that the most outrageous and disgusting lie you have ever seen?

Joe Walsh nailed it; he said, ‘It’s not music lover driven.’ He used the word fan, and it’s not fan driven. Its ultra leftist liberal CEO driven gang who couldn’t give a rat’s ass about the music. I’m not taking away from the 90% of the people in it. I genuflect at the altar of all those great musicians like my friends in Cheap Trick, Journey, ZZ Top, and KISS. They all deserve to be in there.

I would like you to find a human being and walk up to, look at them eye to eye and believe them when they say Ted Nugent should not be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I would love to witness that exchange, you would see a person almost melt with guilt because you know they are lying.

At the end of the day it’s not about me it’s about the music. James Hetfield said it best when Metallica was inducted, ‘Ted Nugent not being in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is a joke; Ted Nugent is Rock & Roll!'”

David Crosby, a twice-inducted member of the Hall Of Fame (once with The Byrds, once with Crosby, Stills & Nash), responded on Twitter, saying Nugent, “could not write a decent song if his life depended on it”

Last year, Nugent claimed it was his membership of the National Rifle Association that kept him from being nominated, to which Crosby replied, “No, the a–hole simply isn’t good enough.”

Agree with Ted as to certain “non-rock” acts in the RRHOF before him.
RRHOF has more to do with the favoritism of the “critics” than of the music….and that is not going to change anytime soon.

Justin Timberlake will be in the RRHOF before Uncle Ted

Hi all. While I don’t agree with a lot of what Ted Nugent says, ( He’s right though a lot of times) he should be in the RRHOF as many others obviously, (Judas Priest, Pat Benatar, Warren Zevon, etc) and others that probably won’t even get nominated, (Kansas, Styx, ELP, etc). Politics plays a big part of what goes on.

Dana brought up Crosby’s sperm donating and I’ve always wondered why Melissa would even want a kid with any of that guy’s dna? He looks like a cross between Albert Einstein, Rob Reiner and Captain Kangaroo with none of the talent of any of those guys.

LOL!!! How do yo go from Pitt to Crosby?? Even John Mayer would have been a better option, and he’s an egomaniac-LOL!!!

LOL!!! Good one, James! Always wondered what the hell Melissa was thinking. Of all people, David Crosby’s sperm? I guess Melissa really is “Brave And Crazy!” 😉

Or he was “the only one” willing to contribute? 😉

LOL! Dana, you think “Like The Way I Do!” She must’ve been so desperate, I guess she couldn’t “Resist.” 😉

I’ve seen Ted many times in concert , the last in 2000 when he was booed for his political rants from the stage, but if you conservatives want him in ANY hall of fame maybe it should be that draft dodgers hall of fame. I’m sure my brother and many others who served would back me up. You should not have let this get political Dana, shame on you.

      Mike T.,

Sheesh, I didn’t let the discourse become political, Ted did, by stating that he felt that is why he was overlooked for induction. If you notice, the story also addressed other problematic themes with the Rock Hall, such as rappers being admitted over rock artists, etc.

Also, I am sick and tired of being chastised, as it seems I cannot win with the readers of this site. I was recently blamed for censorship, and being compared to a ruthless, murdering DICTATOR, (which was not only a ridiculously overblown, and loathsome comparison, but diametrically NOT TRUE) or I am being lambasted for being too lax with the subject matter.

If you read my previous comments on the Donald Trump column, you will see that I worried about that story creating a heated political discourse. I stated that would be the first, and last, story of its kind, due to the worrisome climate it might bring.

Finally, no one is more sensitive to Veterans, and Veteran causes than I am, and while I thank you infinitely for your service, I do not appreciate being admonished regarding the comments being made by others. Might I also strongly suggest you do not read the comments section on any other music website, where this story also appeared, which was most of them, btw.

You Conservatives? Really, Mike T? What do think only conservatives listen to and like Nugent’s music? I know dozens of Dems, and believe it or not even some libs (neighbors, friends, and even some relatives) who absolutely love Uncle Ted’s music, even the ones that adamantly disagree with his politics! Nobody ever seems to have a problem when Tom Morello opens his mouth or speaks his mind, never, but let Uncle Ted express himself, and people like you have a problem with it, and blame Dana? Shame on you, Mike! FYI, my father was in the Army for 22 years. Was a proud Vet, and we were proud of him, and ALL Vets! Because politics aside, we’re all red, white, AND blue!!

Thank you, Doug R.,for your never ending support,

You always bring light to the darkness.

      Sending virtual hugs,

Dana, I know you can’t control (or censor) what we write, but I was a charter member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. For 10 years I sent them $$ thinking that at some point our beloved hard rock/metal would be inducted. I finally resigned after Leonard Cohen made it and not Alice Cooper. My musical collection ranges to 1920″s blues to Motorhead to the Struts. I just want to say we ALL feel really frustrated that bands we want in won’t ever make it past the nomination process. P.S. I hope I speak for everyone in saying we really appreciate what you do for this website.
