JUDAS PRIEST FRONTMAN ROB HALFORD ON BRUCE DICKINSON’S TELEPROMPTER CRITICISM: “[IT IS] A STORM IN A METAL TEACUP”

robhalfordleathersuit Judas Priest frontman, AKA The Metal God, Rob Halford has laughed off Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson’s critcism about him using an teleprompter on stage.

Halford was responding to the Iron Maiden singer’s comments that artists should not have to read their own lyrics from a screen. Dickinson was particularly annoyed by Halford apparently using a teleprompter while singing Priest’s classic Breaking The Law.

But Halford insists the pair are friends and has described the controversy as a β€œstorm in a metal teacup.”

He tells 107.7 The Bone: “What we British say is it was just a storm in a teacup. I love Bruce. He’s a great friend of mine. And he’s very outspoken. He’s a great frontman, a great singer from a great band. And, you know, these things are said in many ways, and I’m sure he didn’t mean it in any other way than Bruce sometimes goes off in one of his rants. You know, it’s just the way it goes. But, yes, storm in a teacup. Storm in a metal teacup.”

Judas Priest release their 17th album Redeemer Of Souls on July 8th.

If I can get past that he enjoys the company of men I can surely get past that he may need a prompter to get the lyrics right.

Hope this gets past the censor nazi.

      Ben,

Please spare me, I really try not to censor unless I have no choice. Also, would you please refrain from referring to me as a Nazi. Whether you were trying to be facetious or not, I find that term extremely offensive.

Just on general principle he should be censored for another failed attempt at being witty. The screen name – lame. Bringing up someones sexuality when it has nothing to do with the story – lame. Using the word Nazi in such a cavalier way is beyond lame.

Sorry. I have no idea who does the censoring so my comment wasnt directed at you specifically. i was annoyed that my very tame comment on a Paul Stanley story was deleted or not published. Possibly because I made mention of people having to pay extra to see certain things on this site. To censor my comment that made reference to that made me angry. Again I meant no harm referring to the censor being a Nazi. They were a political group known to censor anything that went against their ideas and ideals. So that’s why I said it. At the end of the day its only a word but I understand your position and apologize for offending you.

And Omar…Who is talking to you? Shut yer trap. I don’t give a rats butt what you think…about anything.

      Ben,

I appreciate the apology. Also, I understand that Nazi is just a word. However, it is one of those terms that I don’t believe should be undermined ever by being used in a flippant way. Thank you for understanding.

This just in,..Bruce Dickinson also claims he makes a superior shepherds pie than Rob Halford’s. (And Bruce does so without looking at the recipe)
