WILL KISS’ “END OF THE ROAD” TOUR INCLUDE FORMER BAND MEMBERS? PAUL STANLEY SAYS “I WOULDN’T DISCOUNT ANY POSSIBILITIES”

The Associated Press reports:

…KISS frontman Paul Stanley says the band’s (second) farewell tour could include former members performing onstage.

In an interview in Atlantic City where he was promoting his artwork, Stanley told The Associated Press the band’s End of the Road world tour starting next year could include appearances by former members. He did not single out anyone by name, but living ex-members are guitarists Ace Frehley, Vinnie Vincent and Bruce Kulick, and drummer Peter Criss.

Since the tour was announced last month, KISS fans have been clamoring for a farewell that includes former members.

“I wouldn’t discount any possibilities,” said Stanley, who plays the Starchild character in the band. “I learned long ago to never say never. Would I negate the possibility of former members making appearances? Absolutely not. I don’t know in what capacity.”

That lineup is already rehearsing the farewell show, even as its elements remain undecided. Stanley said the set list will be expanded from the recent 16 songs to 25, adding the band has “thrown away every piece of hardware that we used on any of the previous tours and created a completely new show.”

100% ace and pete are playing on this tour – 99% so will bruce – almost 100% vinnie will not –
they could not have a profitable tour without ace and pete being involved -not enough people would come – if ace and pete play i’m sure gene & paul will not allow ace and pete to be in their make-up either – but hell could always freeze over …….

Well, hell froze over for the Eagles!

To boost ticket sales, of course it will include former band members. Paul and Gene are businessmen and KI$$ is a corporation. And since KI$$ will no longer be a going concern after this farewell, cap it off by bringing in the most possible cash.

And KI$$ could make even greater profits if they perform a “Frehley” stunt and fire Fake Ace and Fake Peter and hire Ace’s recently fired bandmates. 🙂

In my opinion, “it’s just business” is a cop-out. It’s not “just business” when it comes to your bandmates, especially your friends, it’s personal! Whatever happened to loyalty?

    • Rattlehead on

Brother Doug! I agree with you about your “loyalty” comment, and the ex bandmates should be included solely for that reason cuz they were all a part of the success of the band. But Paul and Gene are businessmen, and if ex band member participation means more money in Paul and Gene’s pockets, then absolutely i expect ex band members will be included. I think, for Gene and Paul, business comes before loyalty.

Honestly, bro, even if everybody who was ever in KISS is a part of the final tour, I don’t think I would want to be a part of it. I’m just so upset with Ace right now, never thought in a million years I’d be more upset and disappointed in Ace than Gene and Paul, but right now, I am. Of all people, Ace should know what it feels like to be replaced by a clone, and then he goes and basically does the same thing to his bandmates. No matter what the “reasons” were, it was a sh-tty, lousy, f–ked up thing to do, and the timing couldn’t have been worse! Anyway, I never thought Ace would, or could do something like that, Gene and Paul, yes, absolutely, but not Ace. I just don’t like to see people get screwed, and to me, Richie, Chris and Scot got screwed!

I know this is a heavy metal site, but is it possible Michael Bolton sings FOREVER?

Check out Paul quoting Mr. Spock. THERE ARE ALWAYS POSSIBILITIES. Mr. Stanley you were one of the best ever, LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.

All former members should have a chance to play at least once before the tour ends, Ace and Peter for sure. Vinnie is questionable but i definitely think Bruce deserves the chance to play one more time for Kiss fans. He was very important and loyal to that band.

Doug R., I hope your birthday was a great one!

Thank you, James! The party was yesterday, but my birthday is actually today. Had plenty of Red Rocket Rides, on the “Rocks!” 😉
I love Joey Kramer’s drum solo “Listen To the Thunder” on the Aerosmith Rock For The Rising Sun DVD! Can’t wait for Aerosmith’s farewell tour to get started next year, (as long as nobody gets fired!) 😉 Cheers, bro!
