W.A.S.P. have released a lyric video for the song, Scream, from the band’s forthcoming Golgotha album, due out October 2nd. Watch the clip below.
“Scream was the track we felt really opened the album with the kick we were looking for,” says singer Blackie Lawless. “The animation on the video is outstanding and truly takes you on a trip. ‘You’re gonna cry if you want me, You’re gonna lie if you love me!’ It’s enough to make you wanna scream!”
The band unveiled the details of the Golgotha album in July. Guitarist Doug Blair admitted recording the sessions had been been a “very fractured” process, and drummer Mike Dupke left after the album was finished. He was replaced by former sticksman Patrick Johansson. To read more about the album, and to view a track listing, please click here.

I dig it. Blackie never disappoints.
I have to say I’m a bit disappointed with this song. Dominator and Babylon were both pretty good albums, but this doesn’t seem to be breaking any new ground for the band and the song doesn’t really resonate with me either. I’ll always be an 80’s metal fan, but it’s sad to see so many of these bands making themselves irrelevant these days.
Nick, how can you say this band is irrelevant ? The fact that there pumping out music today is great. Im sure Wasp / Blackie knows more about how to make a better sounding album / c.d. then he did back in the day … saying this isnt breaking new grounds is being a hypocrite . I think it’s fair to say you just dont like the song and I can agree it’s not ground breaking ( this song ) but it’s not that bad, great guitar work here. This is better then some of the stuff they have put out in the past thats for sure.
Sure, their mid/late 90’s stuff was pretty bad for the record. The song is worse than just being bad, because it isn’t truly “new”, as it sound like a rejected song from one of the Babylon or Dominator albums. That’s why their becoming irrelevant, because of their failure to evolve musically or at least put out quality songs.
Not groundbreaking, but great playing and good song…Blackie was groundbreaking when he came on the scene in the 80’s, and like AC/DC, you know what you’re gonna get…killer guitar, with melody and Blackie’s growl…love that they are still putting out music AND bands can only be truly groundbreaking once I their career…Everything after that is growth of whatever they originally did.
I would say Chris Holmes is more relevant than WASP these days, even though the mindless drivel he puts out is far worse than this.
