Dee Snider has reignited his feud with KISS frontman Paul Stanley by calling Stanley a “dick” and saying the band exude an air of “arrogance.”
The Twister Sister singer fell out publicly with Stanley when the Kiss man branded Snider a “wannabe” in response to comments in which he said it was “insulting” that KISS members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer were using the Catman and Spaceman personas made famous by Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.
Snider replied by challenging Stanley to a rock face-off, saying he’d “bury” him.
Now Snider has moved to explain the spat in more detail, insisting he is a fan of KISS, but doesn’t think they should be shielded from criticism.
Snider tells The Real Radio Show, “Let me lay out my KISS credentials. I own the first seven albums. I have stood in front of a mirror and lip-synched Paul Stanley vocals. So, I don’t think I’m out of line to say that I have an opinion and that I feel that the Ace Frehley impersonator playing guitar now is an insult to fans.
..People disagree – that’s fine. People agree – that’s fine. But Paul reacted to me making a statement and decided to call me a wannabe and a buffoon, and I had to address that in an open letter to Paul, where I pretty much took him out at the knees.”
Addressing Stanley directly, Snider adds, “Paul, I love your band, I love your music. Why do you have to be such a dick? Alice Cooper is not a dick. Alice Cooper has inspired a million people and he’s the coolest guy in the world, yet Gene and Paul have got this arrogance about them, like the world owes them something. We do owe you something, but let us offer it. Don’t insist we buy it from you.”
Twisted Sister will go on a farewell world tour in 2016 with Mike Portnoy filling in for the late AJ Pero.

Hey you know, it is Paul Stanley’s fault that tommy and singer (more tommy) are not consider part of the Kiss family…. All the line-ups before the current had something to offer because nobody was trying to copy anyone else. I don’t deny that Eric Singer is the best drummer after ERIC CARR or the tommy is an ok guitar player (that way Paul Won’t be out-staged) like it was whit MARK, BRUCE and VINNIE……But let’s talk about what Mr. Snider said, He said that he is a kiss fan…. Well so am I and also a Twisted Sister Fan. so I say this to Mr. Stanley you want to get respect for your Lead Guitar player, let him be himself don’t have him try to be Mr. Frehley because he is never going to be or come close to it……I would have respect for tommy if he was not copying the real Space-Ace even if he play as bad as you……

Come on Lopez. Tommy signed up for being an Ace copy. Why do you care so much if Tommy does care? Paul has not been outstaged by anyone in the group with the exception of Gene. If he was so concerned about being outstaged, why is he still in a band with Gene? We really need to stop all the hate.
Hi there Tre how is going? well I’m not sure what you;re trying to say about Tommy Fhaker but i agree he is has been and always will be a copy…..I saw him playing in Irvine Ca. when he was in Cold Gin a tribute band…do I like tommy as a person and a video producer yes. But I bet even he hates having to imitate Ace Frehley …he is just doing it for the $$$$ would’t you? regarding Paul never been outstaged, well you may have to listen to the Concert Kiss live in Albuquerque Paul tries to play a solo and it sad see him trying to play notes that he just can’t then you listen to Vinnie play his solo it was as he was just having fun….. so does Paul do he cuts him off shot listen to it you’ll see that happened with Bruce and more with the Great MARK NORTON (RIP). anyways I glad you reply always happy to discuss with other Kisser the greatest 10 members in the world Kiss ha ha asi typing this I’m listening to Paul’s solo from Kiss live in Albuquerque…. funny
Classic, I watched Tommy sing “Shock Me” and shoot rockets out of his guitar, that was a disgrace. Even he would know that is going too far. If Ace was such a horrible guy and a lousy bandmate, I am surprised they do not squash that character.

Uh…if you want to call Paul Stanley (with his singing on the last 4 or 5 tours nothing but horrible croaking) a has-been, then yeah, I agree with you…and certainly he is a dick! Dee Snider can still sing and perform, so while some might think he’s a dick, he’s certainly no has-been. DR Is Live…you may need to clarify who you were talking about.
Sean…sigh……I’ll try and help you out like I tried to help out our colleague Richard Nelson. In the article, if you read it, Mr. Snider calls Mr. Stanley a ‘dick’. So when I’m talking about who’s being a dick, I’m hopeful you can understand whom I’m referring to. Thus when I’m comparing said ‘dick’ to one ‘has been’, I’m very hopeful you can now understand whom I’m referring to as a has been. If not, I’ll give you a hint, its the other guy who had a band that painted their faces much like Kiss and even had a rhythm guitar player who lost out to Ace Frehley when auditioning for Kiss. As it’s been stated many millions of times on this glorious site, this conversation has nothing to do with performance levels. Its about pure economics. If your a Dee Snider fan, more power to you. That one record they had was very good indeed (I’m not referring to the Christmas one). But I’ll stand by my comment of ‘rather be a dick than a has been’. Let your biased hatred continue. Its really quite simple Richard. Paul Stanley is a dick, and a very successful rich one at that. Paul Stanley is playing to larger audiences than Dee Snider has in 25 years. Dee Snider needed Celine Dion to record one of his songs in order for Dee to have the money he has today. His money is not from Twisted Sister who has to release Christmas albums to have any sales (I enjoy that album by the way). So I’m not sure where I need to become ‘a little smarter’ as you say, because I’m pretty sure I’ve summed it up nicely. One guy is a ‘dick’, and the other guy calling him out is a ‘has been’, and can only be relevant by calling the ‘dick’ out. Did I dummy that down enough for you Richard?
DR, I agree with you 100%. And everytime a conversation starts about Gene or Paul someone has to make it about Ace. Ace is a loser drug addict and if I had a band I would have kicked him out too. I guess that makes Paul a “Dick”.
Thanks Tre. Y’know the whole impostor thing is old and tired for me. They’ve been doing this for years now. You don’t have to like it, but you need to get over it. Personally, my dream Kiss is Paul, Gene, Ace, with Eric Singer. But alas it’ll never happen.

Dee Snider has become so desperate for attention he’s become a media whore. Others will just say Dee is giving his honest no-nonsense opinion.
Uh, Dee Snider has always been pretty outspoken about everything, this isn’t new, or really newsworthy in any way.

More Old men fighting ? What? Kiss stinks, always has and always will. Now Ace is a solid guy and has five times the talent that Gene and Paul do combined. I don’t think Twisted ever put out a TS lunch box. I just checked on ebay. So, Yes Paul is a meat stick.
