THIS WEEK’S EPISODE OF “THAT METAL SHOW” ROCK N’ ROLLS ALL NIGHT WITH PETER CRISS, PLUS GUEST MUSICIAN RICHARD CHRISTY

Thatmetalshowlogo That Metal Show returns this week with their biggest episode of the current season to date. In the midst of the controversy around KISS not allowing two of it’s original members to perform on stage during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 10th, KISS original drummer Peter Criss shares how he really feels about this matter with hosts Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine. Peter also recounts the joyful early days of KISS, his battle and triumph over male breast cancer, and the joy he felt when playing with Ace Frehley again at host Eddie Trunk’s recent 30-years-in-radio celebration.

In Put It On The Table, Peter answers which band he wishes he could be in if it wasn’t KISS, the song he wishes he wrote, and the best concert he ever attended. The episode ends with Criss addressing the KISS Army telling them how sad he is that he won’t be able to play for them one more time and, as he so eloquently says to Paul and Gene, “What’s wrong with giving ten minutes of your time, for the forty years that you’ve given us?”

Charred Walls of the Damned drummer Richard Christy also drops by the show to take on the coveted guest musician job. Christy showcases his drumming skills while performing in front of his childhood hero, Criss. At one point Richard thanks Peter saying that if it wasn’t for Peter and Kiss, Richard would not be playing drums today. Christy also lets us know that he is currently in the studio working on the new Charred Walls of the Damned album, which will be out some time next year.

Episode ten also features the usual fan-favorite segments: The TMS Top 5 tackles the Top 5 KISS Songs with all three hosts only agreeing on one song, the epic Black Diamond. Peter then adds a few of his own that were missed. This week’s Throwdown pits the KISS classic live albums Alive against Alive II. The decision is unanimous as the original Alive wins the title. This week’s Stump The Trunk finds Eddie battling to regain his dominance over the audience questions with the end result being lots of camera time for everyone’s favorite Miss Box of Junk, Jennifer.

Episode ten of That Metal Show airs this Saturday, March 22nd at 11:00PM ET/PT.

This season marks some monumental changes for the show as it returns to New York City for Season 13. Previously, the show was taped over several days of one week out at Sony Studios in Los Angeles. The new season is shot at Metropolis Studios on Tuesday nights for broadcast that Saturday. Season 13 also consists of 12 new episodes making it the longest season in the show’s history. Fans can also catch the complete season 12 and brand new exclusive bonus clips at ThatMetalShow.VH1.com and in the new VH1 app. New episodes of season 13 launch on the web and in the app every Sunday morning following the show’s on-air premiere.

rtunes I couldn’t agree more and well said. Also add in the fact Paul and Gene wanted the Hall who by the way are the real villains here, to include Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick for their inclusion on multiplatinum records. I’m getting tired of Paul being misquoted as they Singer and Thayer were the ones on the multi albums. He isn’t, he is saying there about Carr and Kulick. Now later in the comment he does reference the current bands intention to have jammed with current and Ace and Peter…they (as in Gene and Paul) only didn’t want to ever play ONLY with ace and peter but everyone. And yes because of current business model confusion is why. Play with only Peter and Ace that night and it would be harder to sell current line up. That is all correct. But please understand the correct meaning behind the statements. Paul is well aware that Thayer and Singer while in my opinion on successful albums in today’s music record buying climate good records. But he meant Kulick and Carr when saying Multiplatinum. And they were open to ace,Bruce,Tommy, and Peter and Eric doing a medley together.

Blah, Blah, Paul Said he did not want ACE and Peter in there Make up it would open up a can of worms he did not want open. IT IS ABOUT MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He does not want to jeopardize current KISS NOHTING!!!!!!!!!!!

    • George on

Finally there are a few who have been truly paying attention…all true…

I just so wish more of our anger and resentment could be moved away from the Kiss army family we all love having pride in and directed instead at the real villain here which is the Hall. Their refusal to allow Kiss the respect given to other bands to play with and honor all of their history past and present is the issue here. What 30 somewhat Grateful Dead members and Kiss can’t add 4 or 5 names and play live how they choose?…that’s who we should direct our anger and not at each other only causing a kiss family civil war with brother against brother and I hate that part. The hall got it wrong when they could have made Kiss first ballot in 99 when original band was in tact if that’s the rules they wanted of only original 4!!

I’ll be watching. From reading Peter’s book, it became clear to me that He doesn’t like Paul or Gene and it seems like it mutual. They should just jam a couple of tunes without the make up.

KISS is not a jam band.

I think all of you are out of your minds, including YOU, Eddie Trunk, for placing so much importance on the RRHOF. Here is what I know. Ace is okay. Peter hasn’t played well at all since the late 70’s. I will see KISS on the current tour, and going to be a first time attendee of the KISS Kruise this October. So all of you middle-aged babies keep whining – including you Trunk. I’ll be having a blast with the Hottest Band in the World.

    • Eddie on

Too bad some call having an opinion “whining” when it doesn’t match how they feel…

    • Jim from Houston on

I agree ED, I’m not the same Jim above. Some people really get mad and if you disagree with the KISS company line, thank you may I have another or your a whiner….LOL just silly. I’m a long time fan but I know when they lie, I know when Egos are in the way and when Money is the main motivator.

    • Kiss Comic Book on

And too bad some people call other people “clueless” when good, valid points are made that do not coincide with their own opinions.

    • Joe Pensanti on

Jim, You mean brand, not band. Brands don’t have any soul.

    • Kiss Comic Book on

And another Whiner steps up with an inane comment about having “soul”.

    • Nic on

With all due respect, judging by your name “Kiss Comic Book”, I doubt that evidently a ten year old as yourself can quite yet grasp the concept of “having soul.”

  • wagdaddy on

Peter was, is and will forever be douche-bag. He is an self-absorbed , no talent bum who has always blamed everyone else for his problems…F Peter-he gets what he deserves. Ace is a good-guy that simply could never handle his high. Ace gave so much to the band and should be honored.
Gene is not a good person, but he worked hard to make KISS successful. Paul is the heart & soul of KISS, and really worked to make KISS sound as good as they could. The HOF is a liberal, politically-motivated organization, which like most radio stations-has very little to do with music. Dave Marsh and the other Roliing Stone suits who run the HOF don’t know or give a damn about Rock & Roll…..so why should any person, band or music lover give one about them?
