SKID ROW RELEASE “RISE OF THE DAMNATION ARMY-UNITED WORLD REBELLION: CHAPTER TWO” TODAY, STREAM THE EP ONLINE

skidrow640 Gary Graff of Billboard reports:

Skid Row releases Rise of the Damnation Army — United World Rebellion: Chapter Two today (August 5th) as the second in a series of three EPs. And bassist Rachel Bolan tells Billboard the group has been surprised and gratified to see fans buying into the concept and starting “sectors” of the Damnation Army all over the world. “We came up with this idea of United World Rebellion, and it’s united a lot of people together,” Bolan says. “Someone in Finland would start the street team, then Japan, New York — we’re watching them all come to life in front of us, and the common thread is Skid Row. We’ll see fans from Italy who invite fans from Brazil to hang out because they’ve started sectors and started communicating with each other through social media. It’s like, ‘Wow, we’re bringing our fans from different parts of the world together,’ so the United part is really working. It’s just a really cool thing.”

Bolan says Skid Row has “ideas but no songs yet” for Chapter Three. “That way it’s really in the moment and fresh,” he explains. “We don’t do the big rehearsals and pre-production; we get through the five originals songs and then after that we start deciding on what songs we’re doing to do, cover-wise. So we learn everything in the studio and go right to the record with those, because we want it to feel completely natural.

Get back to Bach and hit the indian casinos instead of the old clubs and bars.

I agree, Solinger is a tool. Bits and pieces of each album with him have been decent, all together their 3-4 albums with him would make 10 decent songs.

Sebastian Bach would indeed put this band back into bigger venues, but he seems so immature sometimes that I can see why the current Skid Row may not want him back. But they should try. These guys came out of the gate like a new Guns N’ Roses.

Sebastian Bach, (god love him in the day and on every CD/Album he has ever done), just cannot cut it live anymore…. Constantly out of breath and skipping words like someone else who is retiring with his band on thier own Final Tour. He just can’t cut it.. Solinger is a great front man. Yeah, I didn’t care much for Revolutions Per Minute either..Too much filler and not enough Snake influence on the record, but all in all Skid Row found the right fit… Bach dug his own trench, jumped in it and pulled his own dirt over..Now he wants to dig out so he can do it again.. I think the Skids see the redundancy and would rather stay away…Hey..They’re making money.. They are exclusive and they rip live… What more do you need? Oh… And Johnny hits his notes.

Bach would want 50%…Steve Perry yes, Bach..maybe…that’s if he could hook & riff new tunes with Skid Row and kick the band in the ass though he probably is a dick with Rachel. This Solinger thing is boring now.

Saw the Skids and Sebastian Bach in the same year and I have to say Skid Row was just far superior. Sollinger sang the old Skid Row tunes better than Bach, who had his voice drenched in digital delay to extend every scream. Johnny isn’t quite the charismatic frontman that Bas is, but he seems to fit in with the band better, more of a down to earth rocker who doesn’t seem to suffer from LSD (lead singers disease). These last two EPs have been a real return to form for the band, that classic Skid Row sound. I’m hoping they keep rocking in this direction with Johnny and don’t bother with some half-hearted reunion with Sebastian just to make money and play bigger venues.

Wow..Great to see a like minded opinion….You are spot on.. There is fragile and occasionally good.. Or there is solid and consistent.. That’s Johnny.

You are definitely in the 5% crowd there. And I’m being generous when I say 5%

Sebastian’s “Angel Down” CD ALONE >>>>>>> Every Skid “Sollinger” Row release combined. PERIOD.
