SINGER BRUCE DICKINSON CRITCIZES JUDAS PRIEST FRONTMAN ROB HALFORD AND SAYS IRON MAIDEN IS A BETTER BAND THAN METALLICA

brucedickinson400 Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson, never one to censor himself, has reportedly taken a couple of potshots at Metallica and Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford.

According to Loudwire, the singer recently chastised Halford for apparently using a teleprompter to help him remember lyrics during live shows. “People pay good money and you can’t even remember the sodding words,” exclaims Dickinson. “The daftest one I ever saw was Breaking the Law.”

Also, back in 2011 Dickinson told Metal Hammer that Iron Maiden were a much better band than Metallica.

“I got into trouble for saying that we’re better than Metallica … and, it’s true!” Dickinson added, “They might be bigger than us and they might sell more tickets than us and they might get more gold-plated middle-class bourgeoisie turning up to their shows but they’re not Maiden. I did say it’s a bit of a wind-up. I thought, if I’m going to turn into an a–hole, I might as well, you know, go for it!”

In a new interview with the Guardian, Dickinson’s comments were brought up to Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, who offered a humble response. “I will never argue with that,” says Ulrich. “I will always support Bruce Dickinson in whatever nonsense he says. That’s part of the fun. So go Iron Maiden! It’s fine.”

There is absolutely no reason for Janick Gers to still be in that band. He must have serious dirt on Bruce or Steve. When I saw them a couple of summers ago, it was crazy how little playing he actually does.

Totally agreed! I CANNOT STAND Janick Gers! Listen, I love Maiden, and it depends on the day whether I like them or Metallica better. They aren’t competitors people! It’s not like every season they’re fighting it out for the top seed in the global metal band tournament! Metallica AND Maiden have had their low points. And at their best they BOTH have knocked the world upside the head with brilliant music!

I agree that Dave Mustaine is way better than Kirk Hammett!
Oh wait… Wrong thread. Queensryche is way better than Queensryche. Wait that doesn’t make sense either. Oh well – have a metal 4th everyone!

Wow! This subject has really got us all going! I stated in a post earlier this week how this is just Bruce being Bruce and I’m sure Rob himself will realise that. But afterwards I thought about this: I wonder what the rest of the guys in Iron Maiden think about this? I mean, it’s the band’s name itself Bruce risks hurting by saying things like he did about Rob and Metallica. Personally, it doesn’t diminish my love of Maiden’s music and legacy but there’s a chance not everyone will feel the same way. It’s going to be interesting how everyone at the center of this reacts in the days and weeks ahead.

Bruce Dickinson would lose a jump ball to Danzig.

There’s a reason Lemmy refers to Bruce as ” Dick Bruceinson” and he once again proves why. Guy is pretty much a tool bag.
