NEW AC/DC ALBUM “ROCK OR BUST” AVAILABLE DECEMBER 2ND

ac:dc400 Columbia Records proudly announces the release of Rock or Bust, the highly anticipated new studio album from AC/DC, available December 2nd, 2014.

Rock or Bust is the band’s first studio album in six years and features 11 new tracks. Rock or Bust follows the immensely successful Black Ice album, which debuted at #1 in 31 countries upon its release in 2008 and has gone on to sell nearly 8 million copies worldwide. Rock or Bust was recorded in Spring 2014 at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC and finds AC/DC once again working with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser.

Starting September 27th, Turner Sports will provide fans a sneak peek of the new track Play Ball as part of the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason campaign. The content will run for several weeks across TBS, the exclusive home to this year’s American League Postseason coverage, as well as leading media brands within the Turner portfolio. Listen to a teaser below.

Rock or Bust is the first AC/DC album in the band’s 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young on the recordings. Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement, explaining that due to illness Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm’s condition, he will not be returning to the band. AC/DC will undertake a world tour in support of Rock or Bust in 2015. Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays rhythm guitar on the album and will accompany the band on tour.

Been waiting for this for a long time. The new album is gonna rock. The new tour is gonna pull out all the stops. For all the younger fans out there, don’t miss a chance to see the best live rock and roll band ever. Trust me kids, no one brings it live like AC/DC. ACDC is the greatest rock and roll band ever, in my honest opinion. Godspeed Malcolm, thanks for all the memories through the years, and God bless AC/DC!

next to the mighty ZEP-AC/DC is the greatest band on planet earth…..Neptune,Saturn,Jupiter,Mercury,Venus,Uranus,Mars,Chris Christie and any other planets that are out there,as well! Many imitators to Angus and company’s sound, but not possible for other bands to come up with those amazingly killer riffs and that pure, unfiltered tone of the guitars.Angus and Malcolm’s guitar interplay is perfection and if you were trying to explain to an alien(Bieber,Air Supply,Tipper Gore etc.) what an electric guitar sounds like….PLAY ANY AC/DC SONG TO ELIMINATE ANY CONFUSION!!!

I hate that Malcolm wasn’t able to be a part of this album but I am so thankful that we have at least one more release to look forward too. Mark your calendar, December 2nd will be here before you know it.

    Rock or Bust!

AC/DC still kicks ass, but I am afraid this is the beginning of the end. Malcom is one of the principle songwriters of the band. If he cannot return to the band due to his health, I don’t see them lasting much longer. Just the first of many of the classic hard rock/heavy metal bands that will be hanging it up soon. And, while there are some good younger bands out there, I don’t see very many bands that can replace them.

    • Doug R. on

Keith, nobody ever can or will replace AC/DC, but IMO, Airbourne comes about as close as you can get! 🙂

    • James K. on

Wouldn’t be great if they bring Airbourne on the US tour with them? I have a list of bands I’ve never seen live but badly want to and Airbourne is at the top of that list right now.

    • Doug R. on

Amen James, you & me both! AC/DC / Airbourne, what a double bill! Almost a changing of the guard, if you will. What a way it would be for America to get to know Airbourne, by opening for AC/DC, that would be AWESOME! 🙂 Double thunder from down under! 😉

Wow, I couldn’t agree with you guys more. AC/DC, IMHO the greatest live band ever, bringing out a band that comes very close to delivering that classic AC/DC sound. What a legendary show that would be.

    • James K. on

Airbourne rocks and more people need to discover them. Any true rock fan that hears them will love them. Opening for AC/DC would be the greatest thing ever. That would be THE show not to miss.

    • Mike on

Holy crap!! You guys were reading my mind!! I was just getting into Airbourne recently, and that would be an awesome bill!!!

    • Medved on

Not concerned about the songwriting. You’ve heard one AC/DC song you’ve heard them all.

    • James K. on

      BLASPHEMY!!!

    • treff bennett on

Medved-yes,and ALL of them MUST be heard due to awesomeness!

  • Doug R. on

Like I said on The Trunk Report, AC/DC, Baseball, make a great team! PLAY BALL! 🙂

Love me some new AC/DC. They are who I listen to before I go out on the town. Their music gets you ready to party. Can’t wait for the tour. All my thoughts and wished go out to Malcolm.
