KISS WINS THE PUBLIC POLL FOR INDUCTION INTO THE ROCK N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME

KISS400 KISS have won the public poll for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next year.

Over 1,390,000 people voted over 16 nominees and Kiss drew 17.22% of those, a total of 239,417 people. Nirvana came second with 15.69% followed by Deep Purple (11.93%), Yes (10.88%), Hall And Oates (8.1%) and Peter Gabriel (7.97%).

But it doesn’t mean Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons will be inducted – the fan choice only counts as one vote, with around 600 others to be placed by musicians, businessmen and commentators.

If they do make the grade, Simmons recently insisted founding members Ace Frehley and Pete Criss wouldn’t be invited to the ceremony in New York in April. He compared them to “cancer” and added, “How many chances in life to do you get? Those guys had three chances to be in the band. Three times they fucked it up.”

But Frehley later said, “There’s no way Gene can put a lid on it. I mean, what’s he gonna do?”

Meanwhile, guitarist Frehley’s New York home was seriously damaged in a fire over the weekend. No one was injured in the accident. Frehley is thought not to live in the building, which is instead inhabited by a caretaker, and was recently the subject of foreclosure action as a result of unpaid mortgage arrears.

Cool that the ZOMBIES are on this list ’cause Argent of ARGENT was their drummer and GOD GAVE ROCK N ROLL TO YOU was their song. Russ Ballard wrote good songs.

Wait’ll they hit the stage with Thayer and Singer with Ace & Peter watching. Some WMG/UMG/Sony A&R guy: Uhhhh I thought Ace still plays, I guess not, I guess he sucks now. If I were Peter & Ace I’d be livid. Gene: Catch the guys at a horror con near you. Kiss fans should just dump on Gene & Paul Big Time.

Eddie I get as riled up as I’m sure you do when you read the above list! Namely Cat Stevens, umm folk music if I’m not mistaken. NWA and LL Cool J! Seriously?? Maybe in the Rap and Roll hall of fame. Chic, werent they disco?? Ughhh! Youre right Eddie, this hall is a complete joke. I think its all politics. One person I’m glad to see is Link Wray. There would probably be no rock n roll if not for this guy. Check him out.

Lets get on with it. Tell me how much Gene sucks and how greedy he is. Lets get the 297 comments going!

Gene is a rock god. Entertainment is a business and KISS is great so if Gene makes money then good for him. Ace and Peter were great during their time but enough already. As I said before a Vinny Vincent appearance would be the most interesting storyline ahead of a reunion or masked masqueraders. Did I mention the HALL OF FAME is nonsense. Just play: 100,000 YEARS, MAKIN LOVE, I’VE HAD ENOUGH (INTO THE FIRE), and THRILLS IN THE NIGHT with anybody on drums and guitar and I’m fine with that. I’m glad Gene and Paul have kept it going all these years. OUT ON THE STREETS FOR A LIVING……………..

Thrills in the night. LMAO – you kill me Richman.

Hard for me to believe any of these bands could beat out Deep Purple. I know Eddie’s a Kiss guy but let’s get serious for a minute. Deep Purple should have been in there 20 years ago. The greatest hard rock band of all time and still going strong. Until Purple’s voted in, the RRHOF to me will always be a joke!
