    1. Your comment is sure to get cheap laughs with the “we hate Paul and Gene” contingent, but the fact is they’re not playing theaters in America. They’re still playing amphitheaters and arenas. That said, there’s no denying that Paul’s voice is shot, and touring non-stop is only going to make that worse.

    2. Can anyone tell me last time Kiss did an arena or amphitheater that was not a co-headline? Huge difference between co-headlining a shed vs headlining with no name support and shed and even more so an arena. When they can do an arena again with no name support let me know. Last time was the Farewell Tour

    3. How many bands from that era are still headlining arenas on their own (Rush, being the rare exception)? Even Aerosmith tours with established big-name openers (Slash, Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, etc.), and plays largely amphitheaters and casinos (check out their summer tour itinerary). It’s basically a co-headline in everything but name.

    4. That’s true and even Rush is having a hard time…last tour I saw them and for the first time I saw a Rush show only half full…the fans are getting older like the bands and don’t go to every show anymore plus it’s expensive. Anyone saying Kiss is a flop as far as a live draw is nuts…are they as good as they used to be, he’ll no!! But they are still a draw. And every metal band is basically doing a double bill. ACDC does it only every so often, so they are not overplayed and people will pay for their shows because they are few and far between so I agree Dana, that they will sell out this tour and some are stadiums I think.

    5. 2009 they played The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Flyers and 76 ers play there. Not a shed. Buckcherry opened, not co-headlined. This was about 13 years after The Reunion Tour and Tommy and Eric were in the band.

    6. I guess his comment was meant o be ironic …! Still, there is a certain bitterness and truth in this irony.

    7. They will be playing 10,000 to 15,000 seaters in Europe this summer, BUT: e.g. there will be only three in shows in Germany (where concert are still in high demand no matter what the ticket price may be) this time compared to usually 6 to 8 of the same size in the past. They know they would not be able to fill more arenas anymore. In times of internet and YT people can inform themselves to find out if a band is still able to deliver.

    1. …. even though dlr sure has no reason to laugh, his own performance is close to talking instead of singing.

  1. Well they’re not playing theatres yet….Try Casino’s Mr. Rock n Roll. They can still headline arenas with a solid opener…But if Paul’s voice doesn’t sound any better that they might consider retirement soon. That was terrible!

    1. Speaking of yen, ie. their concerts in Japan this year: maybe they tried to find out if the audience is able to find out when Paul is lip-synching, unfortunately for him they instantly did (cf. performance of Samurai Son) …
