From what I have heard so far, this seems like a really, really good record. I love all the teasers. Great buildup.
Rob Halford is the ageless wonder. His voice is still so strong.
“Screaming” was built with the bricks of previous great albums, including the great Point of Entry, Unleashed, British Steel, Hell Bent…etc. Living through that build up was great! Defenders was about as good a followup to Screaming that could be expected…along the lines of Metal Heart after Balls to the Wall.
Sounds a bit like Never Satisfied.
They really dropped the ball here. The lyrics should have been like, “Crossfire! You get caught up in the, crossfire! You get caught up in the, crossfire! Crossfire! CROSSFIIRRREEEE!!!!”
