The official Motörhead website is currently running a competition inviting submissions for a live video version of Killed By Death from the special tour edition of the Aftershock album.
Motörhead fans who have dreamt of making an official video for their favorite band have finally got their wish. To celebrate the Tour Edition of the Aftershock album (a double-disc set containing Aftershock and a bonus live disc from Motörhead’s Spring U.S. dates titled Best of the West Coast Tour) fans are invited to create a video for the live version of Killed By Death from the release.
Creativity is greatly encouraged (don’t be boring!), and the production can be as mighty or modest as the imagination desires. Let the thunderous riff and wry lyrics conjure your best Motörvisions, and the video that wins will be premiered on major music video stations plus websites worldwide by the band’s label UDR/Motörhead Records. The winning director/creator will also receive some very exclusive Motörhead prizes, as well as the satisfaction of having one of the band’s official videos under their creative belt.
Entrants must use the audio of Killed By Death from the new touring edition of Aftershock and entries should be uploaded to YouTube with “Killed By Death Fan Video Motörhead Contest” in the subject line. Also visit the band’s Official Facebook page and post links to your video creations there too. We will pick the very best submissions, and then the fans will vote for the winner.
All entries must be uploaded by NEXT TUESDAY, September 30th, 2014.

Whitesnake fans worldwide now have something to be excited about! To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Whitesnake’s multi-platinum Slide It In album, Frontiers Music Srl, the Italian-based label, will release Live In ‘84 – Back To The Bone, a complete celebration of the group’s awe inspiring lineup during what many feel was the incredible beginning of what Coverdale called his desire to make Whitesnake more “electrifying” on record & on stage.
Set for release in the EU on November 7th and in North America on November 11th, this release will be available in DVD and a Deluxe CD/DVD edition.
Culled from audio and video recordings and unheard demos from the private collection of Whitesnake leader and vocalist, David Coverdale, the release offers an ultra-rare collection of material, performed by the band’s acclaimed ’83-’84 line-ups. Featured on the record & driven by the awesome Cozy Powell on drums (ex- Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, MSG and later on Gary Moore and Black Sabbath, among others); unique guitarist John Sykes, whom Coverdale credits with inspiring a whole generation of six stringers after his breathtaking work on the Whitesnake 87’ album and Bassist exceptionale Neil Murray.
There is also an extraordinary emotional bonus content featuring legendary keyboardist Jon Lord performing his last show ever with Whitesnake on video and also the bonus CD.
“It’s still hard for me to find the words when remembering that half the incredible band who originally recorded the Slide It In album with me have passed away,” says Coverdale. “It’s incredibly difficult to articulate: Cozy Powell…Mel Galley…Jon Lord…All amazing people and amazing musicians. Their memories live on in our hearts & in the music they made. I miss them beyond words… Wait until you see & hear them playing as only they can and add in the fiery guitar assault of the incredibly gifted John Sykes, plus the relentless melodic bass pounding of Neil Murray.”
Coverdale and co-producer Michael McIntyre launched a worldwide search for the best quality video footage and audio tracks from the 1984 tour. Among the gems found was a set from: Super-Rock, recorded at the first Japanese rock festival at Seibu Stadium in Tokyo and an invaluable video of Jon Lord’s final appearance with Whitesnake recorded live in Sweden. “All of the features on this package have been treated lovingly & respectfully, with no expense spared, utilizing technology to improve sound & picture quality,” says Coverdale, who personally oversaw all elements of this release.
Concludes Coverdale, “These are memories I treasure and delight in sharing with you as we continue our celebration of the 30th Anniversary of WHhitesnake’s Slide It In.”

Joe Satriani performed an exclusive 99th birthday commemorative concert for celebrated guitar pioneer Les Paul on June 9th, 2014. The special show was filmed for the new season of public television’s acclaimed music series Front and Center. Satriani’s performance will begin airing on October 21st. In other news, Joe will be honored is his home town of Long Island NY where he, along with the legendary music executive, Clive Davis, will be inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. The ceremony is set to take place on October 23rd at the Paramount Theatre in Huntington, NY.
Joe will continue his 18-month 140 date Unstoppable Momentum tour with stops in South America, New Zealand and Australia before winding up the year in Singapore on November 13th.

Columbia Records proudly announces the release of Rock or Bust, the highly anticipated new studio album from AC/DC, available December 2nd, 2014.
Rock or Bust is the band’s first studio album in six years and features 11 new tracks. Rock or Bust follows the immensely successful Black Ice album, which debuted at #1 in 31 countries upon its release in 2008 and has gone on to sell nearly 8 million copies worldwide. Rock or Bust was recorded in Spring 2014 at Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC and finds AC/DC once again working with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser.
Starting September 27th, Turner Sports will provide fans a sneak peek of the new track Play Ball as part of the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason campaign. The content will run for several weeks across TBS, the exclusive home to this year’s American League Postseason coverage, as well as leading media brands within the Turner portfolio. Rock or Bust is the first AC/DC album in the band’s 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young on the recordings. Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement, explaining that due to illness Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm’s condition, he will not be returning to the band. AC/DC will undertake a world tour in support of Rock or Bust in 2015. Stevie Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays rhythm guitar on the album and will accompany the band on tour.
