4/18: KISS HOF VIDEO, GOLDEN GODS, RYCHE, AVENGED, M3, MORE

Hosted a show in NJ last night at Bergen PAC with the Todd LaTorre Queensryche. Band played a killer set of mostly old school Ryche. Thanks to all who came out. The guys told me they already have 3 new songs demoed for their second album with Todd. Discussed some other cool ideas too which probably they don’t want made public yet, but if it happens would be cool. More soon!

Just posted on the home page is my video I shot with my iPhone of the speeches of the Kiss HOF induction. What I find most interesting about it is watching the reaction of the three guys behind whoever is at the podium. I was at a table in the very first row and actually sitting in Peter Criss’ seat when I shot it. Was a bit of chaos around me at the time but think it came out pretty good. Will be interesting to see if HBO makes any edits when it airs end of May. I only missed a few second of Gene talking at the start and Morello’s induction. I thought I was shooting that but like a dummy my phone was in photo mode. But Tom nailed it I thought.

Live show on Q104.3 NYC tonight 11P-2A ET. Listen to the free stream at www.q1043.com or use the free iheartradio app. Kip Winger will call in live, plenty of requests and giveaways too.

Honored to be hosting the Golden Gods awards in LA with Don & Jim next week. The event happens Wednesday at Nokia in LA and will air on VH1C in a few weeks. From there I fly to Maryland for M3 next weekend. Don’t forget book signing and selling at Chuck Levins booth 3 and 6P Saturday. You must have or buy a book to line up. Then I fly to Ft Lauderdale FL where I will host Avenged Sevenfold, Hellyeah, Adrenaline Mob at Hard Rock Live. Book signing selling outside the entrance to the venue starting 6P. MANY appearances and events and more to come. Please see the home page listing for more.

Happy Easter to those celebrating and have a good weekend.

hey eddie, I was just wondering if maybe you know why when ace was in kiss they never played rocket ride? I mean I love shock me, but I always wanted to see them do rocket ride live, that would have been awesome! I mean as far as I know they never did it live, but maybe you know for sure.

Bottom line….ITS OVER. Pretty obvious as expected what we all saw at the event. Even people around us were grumbling about Paul. He didn’t want to be there standing next to Ace/Peter. He obviously took exception from the fans when they booed Eric & Tommy. Remember Paul & Genes statement, “the fans are our bosses”. Well the fans spoke. Paul Stanley did everything till the very end to change the Halls decision in regards to KISS’ entrance into the Hall of Fame. Paul was extremely uncomfortable with the situation with Ace & Peter and all he did till the very end was saturate us with filth & hatred with Ace & Peter stories. So Ace Frehley, Peter Criss, Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley stood for the final & barring some miracle the last time on stage together. All 4 books are out and all the ” stories” are mentioned. But people should remember this, everyone remembers the first 3 “Apollo” astronauts that had that epic first landing on the Moon in July of 1969….they are still the only astronauts out of all missions that matter when that particular topic is brought up….same can easily be said for “KISS”. They CHANGED EVERYTHING when it came to Rock N Roll. Every other band member that came after Ace & Peter was just a fill in. Gene & Paul made series of adjustments to keep their dreams alive. Nothing wrong with that but again, the stars were already aligned with the first 4 that really mattered, end of story……..Joe in The Cuse

Well, since “Joe in the Cuse” feels Kiss is over, it must be over. I’ll pass that on to the Kiss camp. I’m sure they will immediately call it quits because “Joe in the Cuse” says so.

You look at the Stones, there was a time when Mick and Keith absolutely despised each other. When they were recording “Dirty Work” the songs were written by the band with very little input from Mick. Writing credits are, in many cases, contractually locked in; so, no matter who actually does the writing, if the contract stipulates Jagger/Richards as the writers, that’s what goes on the albums. So, Jagger is totally absent from the writing sessions and the band writes all these songs, “Street Fighting Man,” and they are all directed at Mick. The lyrics are about wanting to fight someone and that’s because the band wanted to beat up Mick! So Mick goes in and sings these lyrics having no idea that they are directed at him! Notice the Stones didn’t break up or get into these petty public squabbles. They didn’t hire session guys to play Ace and Peter’s parts like, well, a session guy! They knew what they had to work out their differences and keep their egos somewhat contained.

Are you referring to the song Fight from Dirty Work? And not StreetFighting Man from the late 60’s?

That should have read “they wouldn’t have hired session guys.” And I bet Kiss asks Ace to come back.
