  1. S.Bach? Serious? How many chances is VH1 gonna give him to jump start his career? That’s why VH1 will never even be a legit cable ch. Same material repeated endlessly is evidence their intellegence is limited. There’s got to be a way Ed to get out from them before they destroy you too. Your too valuable to us loyal Eddie Trunk fans to allow that.

  2. I read your post about why some guests haven’t appeared on That Metal Show. Do you think there will be a chance that Chris Cornell will ever come on future episodes? I know you were a fan of Audioslave. Also, what do you think of Alice In Chains with the new singer. I’m pretty sure you have asked both of these groups/individuals to appear at one point.

    Thanks!

  3. Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser??? Never thought I’d live to see the day TMS finally figured out how to get a true GREAT for the show. I’m sure most of the people looking at this post have never even heard the name., which is sad. One problem however, it’s absurd to have this guy share the stage with anyone else. Buck share a show with Kix??? Paalease!! If Eddie, Jim, and Don had the appreciation for this “stand alone great” that they should have, they would easily build an hour show around him and him only. It’s an insult to Buck as far as I’m concerned. They did the same thing to Paul Rogers. They had him split a show with I think 2 other guests which is an outrage to me. It’s rare it seems that this show ever has any of the greats of the 70’s, and when and if they do, they blow it and insult them by not giving them the high admiration and respect that they truly deserve. But hey, let’s look forward to seeing that jack in the box Sebastion Bach on AGAIN. Guy is such a talentless dick. How ’bout someone from Nazareth??? Anyone here ever heard of them? I doubt it. THEEE band who put the word “Heavy” in “Heavy Metal.”

    1. STUNNING how some just don’t get it and will NEVER be happy and have NO CLUE of the assumptions they make….

    2. Oh I get it Eddie, and if I wasn’t happy I wouldn’t watch the show. Why do you think I’m on your site to begin with? I have an extremely high admiration for all 3 of you hosts, and I am very thankful that VH1 continues to have the balls and persistency to keep this show going on a regular basis. I love the show, and always look at the DVR schedule to see when shows are going to be showing up. You know as well as anyone else that everyone has their loves, and I’m sure there are many out there who love the show even more than I do, because some of their favorites are from the 80’s, and some are on the show often. I’m not one of the many “clueless” people out there who make “assumptions,” and believe that it should be very easy for you guys to get ANY guest in the business on the show; with consideration to your schedules, VH1’s schedules, and guests schedules etc. I can only imagine what a challenge this in itself must be, let alone all of the many other challenges that must exist in order to get a season’s schedule, and everything else all put together. I’m also very sure, that once everything seems to be all in place, then that’s where the real work begins, including all of the last minute changes, scramblings, taping the show itself, and so on.

All of that being said however, it’s not easy for someone like me to watch you guys create an hour long show around Axle Rose for example, which was probably done on his terms, and saw what appeared to be you guys tip towing around him, and nearly bowing before “his majesty,” when the guy is such a disrespectful jerk who cannot sing, but then when you get the chance to have such stand alone giants like Paul Rogers, and Buck Dharma, it appears they get little time of day, when these guys are of the very foundation of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. These guy are literally the founding fathers of what was a true music revolution that occurred in the early to mid 70’s, and created some of the most incredible, and unforgettable stuff ever to make contact with a stylus. These originating bands all had a very special uniqueness, sound, AND stage presence, that no one will ever see again, and bands from the 80’s, 90’s, and now, can never touch them. Some of what made much of that stuff so very special, is that much of it wasn’t over produced, over mixed, and over marketed. It was straight from the pick, to the amp, and to our ears. Just pure and unspoiled heaven on vinyl. This does not mean that I don’t like bands from the 80’s, I do, just in a much different light.

I am also smart enough to realize, in trying not to make too many assumptions, that first and foremost for any show, is ratings. I would believe that VH1 wants to try and please it’s vast majority of it’s viewing audience, which is probably viewers who found their love in the 80’s. I understand all of this, but it doesn’t mean I won’t be pissed off about it all, yet watch the show in spite of myself, and I will also be the first one to admit that I’m wrong if I’m wrong. After all, I have no connection to or with the show, I’m just another viewer, so in that sense, I know nothing, but I will always continue to argue my points that I feel strongly about.

I just want to see the highest regard, and highest respect, paid to the ones who are truly owed what they deserve. Axle??? Paaalease!!! He shouldn’t be allowed to breath the same air as Buck.

Thanks for reading, and have fun!

    3. You are sooooo right about Buck…..hard to find a better axe man than him……about time he was on the show……..they should bring on all of Blue Oyster Cult!

    1. Really?? What show do you watch? Over 50% first time guests. AMAZING people comment about return guests on a show that shoots a couple times a year. Do things not change? What TV talk show DOESN’T repeat some guests?? Amazing..

    2. I was just dissapointed that you didnt get Schaeffer again and out of frustration tried to stir it up by my comment alot of same ole same ole.Has Schaeffer ever been considered as a guest onTMS? I remember him being on your Sirius rado show when it was on Boneyard.
