After 40 years I am done with Gene and Paul. They couldn’t give us this one fuckin’ day?
Also…I have lost all respect for Eric and Tommy as well. They in no way belong up on that stage for the ceremony. This is what happens to some people when they get old, they lose their minds. Don’t gene and Paul realize that even their peers will look at this as a farce.
Just heard the disappointing news on your radio show. That is so ridiculous! I’m telling you, you need to convince Ace and Peter to show up anyway, in full costume and makeup, and crash the stage during their set, Kiss Meets the Phantom style.
I want to say I’m shocked at how petty and evil Gene and Paul are being, but I’m not. It’s one thing to not do a reunion at the induction but to not allow them to play at all is asinine. Thanks for giving a damn about your fans. They’re the only reason your being inducted in the first place.
Eddie, you just said on the radio that you don’t take sides on this and are as objective as possible. I’m sorry, but that simply isn’t true. You have always sided with Ace and Peter concerning the use of their characters by Eric and Tommy and have voiced your displeasure with that many times. And tonight, you sucked up to Ace while he was embarrassing himself sounding half drunk. You were leading him on and acting as if this was a shock and huge blow to the fans. That sounds like you were definitely agreeing with him and taking his side instead of being objective and trying to possibly see this from the side of Gene and Paul as well. I’m extremely happy with the current line-up of the band and love their last two CDs. They work well together and are all great guys. I’m so happy for Eric and Tommy to be living out their dreams. I’m glad that Gene and Paul are including them in this instead of having them stand on the outside like they did with Eric and Bruce back during the first reunion. And, by the way, I have been a KISS fan from the beginnings in 1973. Back then, Ace was my favorite member, but he made his choices and those led him away from the band twice. There was a time when he and Peter where equal partners, but they screwed that up. Now the band is Gene, Paul, Tommy and Eric. Would it have been nice to see the original four perform again? Sure. But I don’t feel hurt by their decision or feel as they owe me that when they have a current line-up that is going strong. The band is giving a lot to the fans right now and providing us a lot of access to their personal lives as well as providing great live performances. And, who really cares about the R&R Hall of Fame anyway? It seems like you care about it way more than the band ever has.

It’s mystifying to me how people like Ken Norman are able to embrace the Spinal Tap version of KISS but hey, more power to him…
