2/14: LIVE Q104.3 TONIGHT, PAUL STANLEY HOF COMMENTS, MEXICO CITY, MORE.

After feeling like hell the last couple weeks finally went to the Dr today to see what was up. Some sinus infection so he gave me the ole Z Pack to knock it out. He also told me a new study pretty much says almost all vitamins (including C for cold season) are a waste of money! Can we all get our money back? I swear it is impossible to do the right thing it seems! Regardless I will be back live tonight on Q104.3 NYC 11P-2A ET. Join me for music, talk, news and more, plus lot’s of giveaways. Listen at www.q1043.com or use the free iHeartradio app outside NYC area.

Interesting interview just posted in this sites news section with Paul Stanley on the HOF. I must say he makes many valid points about the Hall in general and I give him credit for speaking out that forcefully on the eve of his own induction. This is one instance where I agree with Paul. Kiss was snubbed for 15 years. This is something I’m sure the HOF (and I know some of their voters) still wish was not happening. Us fans feel this is important, but it is truly a joke if you look at the process and the rules as I have been saying for years. But if they are showing up, and it is only the original lineup (which it is being inducted), let’s hope it is done with the proper respect to that band. I am NOT looking for any original Kiss reunion, but I think MOST fans would agree it’s not asking for too much for a song or two one last time with Ace, Peter, Gene & Paul. We shall see soon. Some news has to come out very soon one way or the other because tickets are about to go on sale and fans will want to know exactly what they are buying and seeing that night no doubt. Let’s also not lose sight of the fact that for us Kiss is the story here. But in reality there are several other bands going in and for the HOF Kiss is likely viewed as a necessary evil here unfortunately. I assure you they are internally more excited about Springsteen’s band or Nirvana in truth. More very soon I’m sure..

Speaking of Kiss, they are one of many bands playing in Mexico City next month at the Hell & Heaven Fest. I was just brought on by the promoter to appear at this event both days. I am not going for interviews or media or TMS. I am going to do some fan meet & greets, stage announces and whatever else the promoter asks of me for the weekend. Whatever my personal feelings about Kiss now, or any band for that matter are, they have nothing to do with an event like this. I didn’t make the lineup and it is not about what I think. I am there to be a pro for the promoter, meet fans, and whatever else may come up. If you are going hope to see you. More news when I have it.

Hope you enjoy the all new TMS tomorrow night 11/10C on VH1C.

Me, Don & Jim live on stage 8P tomorrow night at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville NJ. I will be selling and signing both books and have merch for sale as well pre and post show. These are live stand up shows, NOT TMS tapings. It’s almost sold out but hope to see you there.

Have a good weekend, happy Valentine’s day.

Watched the most recent episode of TMS this morning and I think you were given a wrong answer on the question about the UFO song I’m A Loser. The Beatles did do a song with this title on the Beatles 65 U.S. album but I don’t think it is the same song. I pulled up the UFO song on Amazon and the portion played was not the same song. Maybe I misunderstood the question but I thought she indicated they covered the Beatles song. Anyway, I’m sure you have already checked into this. I have a sister that is 8 years older than me so my first taste of music was listening to all of the Beatles’ American releases during the height of Beatlemania. Really loved the episode and enjoyed hearing Matt Nathanson just being a music fan. You could tell that the guys from Alter Bridge were impressed with his knowledge.

They only meant the same song title, not the song itself

I just want to say…..That Metal Show is the best thing on television and online today!!! Thank you Eddie for everything you do I appreciate it, and thanks to the TMS team as well. Hopefully you and Paul Stanley can get together again in a positive way be it radio or television or even on stage. It would be a good thing to see. Keep on rocking, cheers.

Thanks for watching TMS. Our door as always is open to him and any major artist that is up for coming on the program and discussing and debating their career.

Well said Eddie, God bless and take care.

Well, Eddie, you said there would be much back-and-forth drama on the KISS HOF induction from the moment it was announced and you were right! It seemed Gene was uncharacteristically humble and open to a reunion (for the induction night) at least initially but Paul’s comments since then, especially last week, seem to have thrown cold water all over any hope for even a short set at the HOF. My guess is that this is another instance of Paul pouting over him being unable to sell this “new” KISS as the band to the public; if he were given the opportunity to showcase Tommy/Eric in the makeup onstage, he would probably have sung a different tune about the HOF. But my gut says any chance for Ace/Peter to elicit the rapturous response from the fans must be quelled in his mind; at least that seems to be the way he thinks lately. What do you think?

    Eddie
I dont think taking vitamins is a bad thing regardless of this one particular study . Especially if you have a poor diet like me .
    Two things ;
What struck me the most about the Paul interview is his comment :

Stanley : ” It was interesting to me, or offensive to me, that when the question was broached with the hierarchy about inducting additional members, it was shut down immediately as ‘a nonstarter,’ which, to me, is arrogant. “.

    IMO
If it wasn’t for the makeup and stage show Kiss very well could have fizzled out by 76 or so.
It wasn’t till Alive I ,that captured the live show, that Kiss took off . The 1st three releases weren’t selling even though they had all the popular songs . And by the 80’s ( although I love all era’s except the current one) Kiss’ music was getting …..Well …..80’s worse . Lets Put the X in Sex and Tears are Falling are hardly what influenced so many musicians
And what is Paul & Gene doing today ? Copying 70’s Kiss
I get the Hall wants to honor “Makeup Kiss” . And all the other members are not Makeup Kiss . Not even Eric really. I would have considered Eric as Makeup Kiss if they would have continued on with the makeup….
Paul said back in 2002 when dressing up Eric and Tommy ” we dont want to have a chickenman or dogboy character up on stage . Obviously he was trying to downplay what they decided to do with Eric and Tommy.
So why would the Hall that’s honoring the uniqueness and impact of 70’s Kiss want to induct 6 more members and have 10 people up on stage . Wouldn’t that kind of look as silly as dogboy and chickenman ?
The hall is honoring 70’s Kiss . The version that influenced so many musicians . That’s it .
I wish Paul would be as honest as he is about his opinions of the Hall , with his views of playing w/ Peter and Ace . His comments change from month to month as he learns what the Hall wants and that Paul can’t call all the shots…… I give him less than a year before he starts slamming Ace and Peter again.

2nd ) I still say it would be very uncomfortable , as a fan , to have Gene and Paul on your show unless Ace and Peter were there. You know exactly what they would say about all of yours, mine and , so many other’s thought’s on what they are doing . It’s all about the money and selling more concert tickets . Its disgusting ! I really hope they dont ever come on TMS. Sorry Eddie !

3 ) You guys commenting last week on TMS about retiring when the singer can’t sing as well or lip sync.. Obviously when the singer sounds really bad its time to retire . But , ( going off topic) i’ve noticed with todays younger fans it seems like it’s not a bad thing, to them, to replace the vocalist when the band has inner turmoil.
Foreigner , Journey , Ratt, Crue, Warrant ,Priest and ,Queensryche come to mind . Then , the backlash by fans seems to be that the singer who has gotten the boot cant sing as good anyway .
As a older metal fan , the music and magic that the original created ( that rarely gets recreated w/ new singers) is something that should be retired/ change name…… Should we start replacing guitarist’s , drummer’s too when they cant play as well or move around as much ( Angus)

So I think it should be live , no lip syncing/etc. or
live show should be tuned down ( like Zepplin did in 07 to accommodate Plants loss of range )

I’ve enjoyed reading the other comments and agree with many of the other fans. My take is simply that Paul is covering both ends of the spectrum. I agree that the Kiss camp can’t completely control this situation, and by Paul voicing his disdain for the Rock Halls induction practices and their long overdue induction is not so much about the Rock Halls practices but that the Kiss camp really doesn’t want to play with Ace and Peter because as Eddie has stated they are all about selling the Current lineup, and we all know what happens if all the originals get on that stage in makeup and play together again, especially in their own hometown. It’s a no brainer for the” Kissarmy” what they should do, but not so easy for the Kiss camp.
