So it appears charges have now been dropped against Phil Rudd as stories broke last night. As I stated in my last post that’s why I always let things play out some and find out what the full story is. However it doesn’t appear to be the end of things as there are allegations of drugs and still some legal stuff pending. I have no idea if AC/DC will stick by him through the rest of this. They may wait until they see how it plays out or decide he is too much of a potential liability with all of these allegations swirling around him and the prospects of a massive world tour early next year. I’m sure no doubt more layers to this story to come. Even the mainstream press has picked up on it. I saw CNN this morning discussing it. It’s always interesting to me when the non rock world gets a hold of a rock story. One commentator actually argued that AC/DC is a “hair band”. Utterly clueless! If they saw the guys they would realize Angus is actually closer to hair-less! Ha!
Thanks to all the great response to this weeks podcast with Adrian Vandenberg. This interview first aired on my radio show a month or so ago. Most weeks are all new exclusive interviews for the podcast, but not every week. I do two radio shows a week and sometimes you just can’t interview people 3 times for the same thing. The radio show is also not as available and not everyone that hears the podcasts listens to that. So there is always going to be some re purposing of material but it is rare. Next Thursday is Snake Sabo and that is new and exclusive to the podcast. I do my best juggling it all.
All new radio show debuts tonight 11P ET on Q104.3 NYC and WAAF Boston 11P-2A ET loaded with new and classic hard rock and metal. Q104 streams with iHeartradio app or www.q1043.com , AAF at www.waaf.com Full list of all stations under Live & On The Air.
Pat Travers has been added to the lineup for the Thanksgiving Eve benefit for Karl Cochran at Dingbatz in Clifton NJ. Going to be a fun night. Come out and support Karl!
Just announced I will be hosting Y&T on New Years Eve at Rock Bar in San Jose CA! This should be a blast, see you soon N CA!
Saw Starz last night in NJ. Great songs, great 70’s band that should have made it. They only do a few live shows but it’s always fun seeing them. Johnny Dee from Doro and Bruno from Danger Danger among those hanging out. Nikki Sixx told me he was a big Starz fan too. They go in that group with bands like Angel, The Godz, Piper and many others from the 70’s that just missed on the mainstream success.
Have a good weekend, more soon. New TMS Feb 2015…

Wow the Slash/Miles Kennedy show tonight on DirecTV is fantastic, which is another reason Eddie why you should be looking to them or AXTV for your talent instead of just taking the easy way out and staying with Viacom (VH-1 Classic).
Tired of your excuses that there isn’t another outlet for your show. Get an agent and get off of your ass. Have some confidence in yourself to move on!
Really David? You honestly think I haven’t investigated other opportunities? I worked for AXS for 2 specials in the last couple years. You honestly think if I could just snap ny fingers and make these things happen I wouldn’t. It is stunning to me how few understand this business yet feel to make statements like you as if it’s just that simple. Here’s something else; that scenario works for YOU because YOU have DirecTV. Guess who doesn’t? A TON of other people! Yeah that would be a smart move to put all my eggs in a basket that is in about 1/10th of the homes I’m in now and cut my possible audience dramatically. Same with AXS. There are a TON of people who don’t get it including me. I have the largest provider of cable in NJ and LI and they don’t carry it. So I should blow off everything and a ton of my audience because you get the channel and forget about the millions that don’t? Good thing you are clearly not an agent!
Don’t let the fact that your Giants suck and you are in a bad mood take it out on me lol. Hey, if you are happy that you have done all that you can then good for you. By the way, AXSTV is available in approximately 43-45 million homes in the US; VH-1 Classic is available in approximately 60 million. This info is readily available online, so to say that AXSTV is in 1/10th of the homes you are in now is a ridiculous statement. I would submit to you that the channel has better programming, it’s in HD, and it’s focus is on live event music, much of it rock and metal. Kind of fits what you do, right? Oh, also…VH-1 Classic is an afterthought for Viacom…an avenue to play videos and old movies that they own and have nothing else to do with. They won’t even give you a shot on VH-1…really shows their commitment to you.
You can be crappy with me all you want…but I am a fan of yours and would like to see you have the opportunity to do something better on TV than be stuck on the garbage channel you are on now.
Are you in the TV business? Do you know what channels want what and what their mandates are? Do you know the nature of contracts and exclusivity? Are you a talent manager? Have you spoken with the people that run AXS? I have. I’ve even spoken with Mark Cuban who owns it. I have even done two jobs for them. Do you have those experiences and knowledge? Do you know that Cablevision which covers NJ and LI, and Time Warner that covers NYC, don’t carry AXS? That’s only the #1 media market that it is largely not in.I have nothing against the channel and would love to work more with them but you seem to have all the answers so just figured you’d know all these things? Have you sat in meetings with Viacom and addressed their limitations with VH1 Classic, where I have worked by the way since 2002. Do you know the difference between VH1 and VH1 Classic and their programming? I mean you must know all this stuff right? AXS also has Dan Rather and MMA fights. Did you know that? Since you clearly must have a wealth of information on how TV works and think I can walk in any door please email me and I would like to hire you do meet with these people and make some deals. Oh and as for your Giants reference? I am not 10 years old dude…
Eddie, Every time someone disagrees you always start your rant with,”REALLY?” Most of your fans play yes man and you love that. But if you don’t get the yes man response you flip out with the sarcastic really lecture. You are the epitome of the yes man. Every guest on TMS, gets the same up n down trunk shake. You should of passed on that Axl interview. You were obviously scared to death and the trunk shake turned into a zombie like nod. Get real trunk
Thank you Don for watching, listening and taking the time to visit my site. Only a true fan would be so knowledgeable and consumed with the things I do, so thanks!
Ed can’t believe you let these guys get to ya…They must be under the false impression you ,don, and jim shot some pilots of that metal show and shopped them until vh1 said we’ll carry the show.Anyone who listens to your show would know that vh1 unfortunately calls the shots and it took them awhile to go the full hour, instead of the very short 30min show..Maybe one day they’ll cash in on the dvd complete season catalog…Don’t waste your energy tryin to explain all the time…Hopefully you saw my cool comment from nov 7th..I took care of my gmom the last 15 years, dementia and all she passed at the age of 94 in july, but I really enjoyed tuning into the satellite show on mondays and occasionally fridays for an enteraining break with a guy who I can relate to, who digs the music our generation does/ and still plays and promotes new acts worthy of airplay..Don’t sweat these people bustin your chops..keep on rockin and rollin brother…I hope one day I can revisit my days on lead vocals..You had a dream to do your shows and look how far you’ve come..Good for you..Anyways I just learned to appreciate every day we have on this earth, and not sweat the small stuff…
Yep like a deer in the headlights. Axl Rose is one of the biggest a-holes in music. Always has been always will be!
Eddie I’m a fan of yours but one thing I’ve noticed on here is you are extremely defensive and many of your replies on here focus on defending yourself to criticism or defending Ace Frehley. How about the next time you decide to reply to posts on here reply personally to the individual posts that praise you and ignore the critics. You’ll feel a lot better and will make many people day! Hell give one lucky winner an autographed copy of your two books! Oh yeah f–k Axl Rose, I’d pay to fight him!
What I take issue with is people that think they know me, know what I deal with, and no how this business works and make insane assumptions. I answer tons of people all the time with positive things. Very hard to make everyone happy in social media world and a big time drain if you let it dominate you. Simple fact is anyone who watches, listens to, or takes the time to post on this site has to be a fan to bother to do so if they admit it or not, so thanks. I can’t control what people think otherwise. Just gotta laugh when some think they have it all figured out.
You’re right Eddie. I got off of Facebook and have never had a tweeter page, to hell with social media. This is probably the only site I consistently post to because I love heavy metal and rock n roll. I love all of your podcasts, that metal show, etc. And the biggest rock stars of all time are your true friends who speak very highly of you! It’s obvious you have a great reputation! Your website rocks! I love most of the chats on here, there are some good points brought up by many as well as some very funny comedians too especially the people who make fun of the current state of Kiss haha! But always remember there are always a few idiots who are extremely brave and tough behind their home computers who wouldn’t have the balls to say this stuff to your face! And who is this Ladd guy? Never heard of him and makes me wonder if it’s Ladd himself or some of his cronies commenting on here to draw attention to himself and try to steal some of your audience?
Phil Rudd is still the drummer of AC/DC. Jim Ladd got the scoop. Ladd also tells friends he will have a hard rock show debuting early next year on VH1 in HD! Confirmed guests:OZZY, GENE SIMMONS, STANLEY EISEN! The lonesome LA Cowboy does it again.
Nice, will look for the show. Wish Eddie wouldn’t have missed the boat, but oh well enjoy the low def life I guess. The path of least resistance…
Eddie is constantly missing the boat.
STARZ was great the other night. Michael Lee Smith still sounds great. He’s put on a few pounds but he still has the voice. Richie, needs to loose the wig, it’s very distracting. The set list was; Fallen Angel, Detroit Girls, Live Wire, Tear It Down, ??, Pull The Plug, Cherry Baby, Rock Six Times, House of the Rising Sun, Third Time is the Charm, Anyway That You Want It, She, Wrote a Letter, Violation, ??, Subway Terror, So Young So Bad
Thanx for posting the set list. I am a big Starz fan. Richie is usualy at record convention just outside of Philly every Thanksgiving weekend. Eddie is there this year too
And now its no longer free
I think the band moved on from Phil a while back. The fact that he wasn’t at the video shoot, he wasn’t included in the band photo are all signs that things were strained between he and the band. We won’t know anything until the first show. I would be very surprised if they made an announcement one way or the other regarding his status within the band.
Imagine how Cliff feels, both of his rhythm brothers are gone now.
The Real Paul Stanley is not the “real paul stanley” ’cause he did not talk about how bad ace and peter “were”…..
