11/7: WEEKEND REPORT, AC/DC, PODCAST, Y&T NYE, COCHRAN BENEFIT, RADIO, MORE
So it appears charges have now been dropped against Phil Rudd as stories broke last night. As I stated in my last post that’s why I always let things play out some and find out what the full story is. However it doesn’t appear to be the end of things as there are allegations of drugs and still some legal stuff pending. I have no idea if AC/DC will stick by him through the rest of this. They may wait until they see how it plays out or decide he is too much of a potential liability with all of these allegations swirling around him and the prospects of a massive world tour early next year. I’m sure no doubt more layers to this story to come. Even the mainstream press has picked up on it. I saw CNN this morning discussing it. It’s always interesting to me when the non rock world gets a hold of a rock story. One commentator actually argued that AC/DC is a “hair band”. Utterly clueless! If they saw the guys they would realize Angus is actually closer to hair-less! Ha!
Thanks to all the great response to this weeks podcast with Adrian Vandenberg. This interview first aired on my radio show a month or so ago. Most weeks are all new exclusive interviews for the podcast, but not every week. I do two radio shows a week and sometimes you just can’t interview people 3 times for the same thing. The radio show is also not as available and not everyone that hears the podcasts listens to that. So there is always going to be some re purposing of material but it is rare. Next Thursday is Snake Sabo and that is new and exclusive to the podcast. I do my best juggling it all.

Saw Starz last night in NJ. Great songs, great 70’s band that should have made it. They only do a few live shows but it’s always fun seeing them. Johnny Dee from Doro and Bruno from Danger Danger among those hanging out. Nikki Sixx told me he was a big Starz fan too. They go in that group with bands like Angel, The Godz, Piper and many others from the 70’s that just missed on the mainstream success.

Yeah, Eddie always lets things play out.But he has also fired Phil Rudd the day of his arrest and is letting the fans pick his replacement. Who has the most votes so far Trunky?
No matter what I write, or how clearly I state things, some people will always try and find an issue with it. Sorry you can’t deal with fans being fans and only read things how you want. Not sure where I had Rudd fired but the ultra sensitive will always find a way to spin instead of deal with facts. And if you think this situation is over you are dreaming.

Basically, you asked everyone to name their Phil Rudd replacement about 10 minutes after this was announced. So yeah, you were VERY clear. Which is why I wouldn’t respond to something so ridiculous.
Will Rudd be on the next tour? I don’t know…neither do you. But if you know more tell us. If you don’t then stop with the “dreaming” comments.
My last response to you. You seem to have some strange agenda here. I share what I know. FANS speculate on who might fill a possible void in a band. I’m sorry if you have your own agenda here and can’t engage with everyone else in a normal manner when I engage with fellow FANS. For someone who seems to have so many issues with so much of what I do you are awfully involved in all of my worlds…
I don’t have any agenda lol. Hey, I’ve been a fan of yours for a long time…just trying to engage in some discussion. When I agree with you (and if you don’t think I have then go back and review my comments over the last few years…I’m sure Dana can)I comment but when I disagree and think you are wrong I will point that out as well. I would think that is one of the reasons why you set this site up…to have conversation.
I don’t understand why you would just choose not to engage in dialog with somebody just because they are not in lock step with you 100% of the time. I think that is more a reflection on you than me, but that’s fine if you want to have that kind of attitude.

Hey Ed .First off,good health and happiness to you and yours…Second you ever think you can get Jon Bon Jovi on a podcast.Maybe Dave Sabo can get you hooked up with that…That’d be a very interesting pod cast.Also Billy Squier ,I know you had him on your satellite show for parts one and two,,perhaps part three on podcast..Loved those interviews and basically all the ones you conduct..You do a great job..Keep up the great work!!!
