Type O Negative is (was) an underrated band with a lot of cool songs.

If you miss TYPE O, as I do check out A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH. Two former members and a similar vibe and sound. Actually recommended by Don Jamieson on TMS. Steele’s sense of humor can never be copied. A truly original and unique talent in this genre of music. He died within a few days of Dio so his death was overlooked. In fairness, Dio may be the best ever. Steele kept it fresh from the 1990s into the 2000s. Some of theft best new music during that time and a great live show too. BLOODY KISSES and WORLD COMING DOWN are classics.

Well let me say as a guy from louisiana and first taste of music was kiss when I was five now being 52. Kiss was always my fav even through all the yrs with lineup changes and the whole 80″s metal scene which I took to like many but more of the ones that I would consider relevant in terms of music. That is roxx gang spread eagle. War babies.every mothers nightmare.vain.shotgun messiah .just to name a few but when I heard of type o negative that was it . They took number 1 as soon as kiss picked up the two bozos in ace n peters makeup . Type o negative are a very good band unlike most bands I think they really had something very special something I hadn’t seen since I was five seeing n hearing kiss. I was lucky to have met the guys and seen them many many times there are the greatest.rip peter Steele.funny thing to both kiss n type o negative new York bands.

42 as well and I just got a good physical. I’m a New York guy who enjoys KISS, TYPE O and of course I’ve been to Louisiana and I love that too. A lot of cool stuff especially the great music. UNSUCCESSFULLY COPING WITH THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF INFIDELITY is a masterpiece in the vain of original SABBATH. TYPE O never released an album that wasn’t quality. SEPTEMBER SUN was also great towards the end of the bands history. Steele was a huge loss as well as being a huge guy. Good post Joseph. God be with you.

I echo the great things being said about Peter Steele and Type O Negative in the above posts. His death was a huge loss for the metal world. He was such a great musician and a great songwriter. I have loved Bloody Kisses since the first time I heard the album over 20 years ago. I still have the great memory of hearing Christian Woman for the first time and being blown away by the mellow middle section of that song. My God, what a beautiful piece of music that is.
