11/23: TRUNKNATION, ERIC CARR, FREDDIE MERCURY, NEW PODCAST, HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Just wrapped up today’s Trunk Nation by letting the audience help me pick my R&R HOF ballot. Was lots of fun and some great debates for sure. The phones were jammed the entire time. Now that Volume is 6 weeks old I can’t tell you how cool it is to be doing a daily rock talk show. The guest list already has been insane! Today Jason Bonham called in, Sammy Hagar the other day. We started with Lars Ulrich and Jon Bon Jovi! To have a show covering all the wide range of rock, and to have all of your support is just awesome and I am thankful. And I appreciate my new team at SiriusXM for helping me deliver 6 live shows a week. Off to a great start for sure! Now we break for Thanksgiving. My Best Of the week will air as usual this Saturday and Sunday 9P ET on Volume 106. Then back live this Monday 2-4P ET on Volume and 5-8P ET on 39 Hair Nation.

Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the passing of Kiss drummer Eric Carr. Eric was the first Kiss replacement member, and probably the most loved of the replacement members. He was a great friend, great drummer and great person. We had many great times! I can’t believe it’s been 25 years! It seems like just the other day he was hanging on my radio show or busting my balls about something! He would have loved TMS! RIP Eric, you are missed. RIP also Freddie Mercury who passed away the same day. Two greats lost 25 years ago tomorrow.

My new podcast posting tomorrow is a triple header from my recent week in LA with Fred Coury, John 5 and Nuno Bettencourt. Grab it free starting tomorrow www.PodcastOne.com or Itunes.

My FM show airs on all stations this weekend as usual and is all new and features Metallica.

Hope you and your family have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Eddie– to honor Eric Carr, please tell the story (and show the picture) of when you first met him as a fan! It is one of my fave all time stories–I can’t imagine how cool it must have been!
