I love Slayer! IMO, probably the most consistent of the “Big 4”. When you listen to a new Slayer album, you know exactly what you’re usually gonna get….fast double bass drumming, fast riffing, evil sounding vocals, and dark themed heavy music. Even there slower songs are brutal.

Again, IMO, when Slayer plays live, they bring out the most energy of any of the “Big 4”. From a pure energetic/crowd frenzy standpoint, no band can top Slayer as a live performer.

While I still wish Lombardo was still with them, Bostaph is a beast on the drums. And, while sadly, Hanneman is no longer with us, Holt is a shredder guitarist, probably the best “unkown” thrash guitarist in the game.

I agree with your “consistent” comments about Slayer, Rattlehead. Love them or hate them, you know what you are going to get from Slayer. I have never seen them live, so I cannot comment on your statements about them as a live performer. But I have talked to other folks that are big fans, and they say the same thing. For me, I like some of their songs (“Seasons of the Abyss” is my favorite), but a lot of their stuff I just cannot get into. Not enough melody or dynamics, for me. Of the BIG 4, they are my least favorite band, my favorite being Megadeth. To each their own!

Will the camera show the audience members with “Slayer” carved on their skins?
