Current The Dead Daisies frontman Glenn Hughes has tested positive for Covid, and as a result, he is being replaced on the band’s summer 2022 European tour. Filling in for Hughes will be vocalist Dino Jelusick (Whitesnake) and bassist Yogi Lonich.
The Dead Daisies said in a statement, “We’re sad to have to announce that the dreaded virus has hit the camp again with Glenn Hughes testing positive and unfortunately unable to continue. He’s doing OK, and please join us in wishing him a speedy recovery.
In the spirit of The Dead Daisies, ‘The Show Must Go On’. As Yogi filled in for David when he was crook, we’re forging forward with Yogi playing bass and Dino Jelusick joining us on vocals for the rest of these shows.
We know some of you are coming to see Glenn, but we hope you will still come out, rock with us, and have a great time. Too many bands find it easy to just cancel, but we’re determined to keep playing for you guys … rain, hail, heat or virus.
If you do want to give it a miss, we’re in the process of speaking with the promoters to work something out .. we’ll keep you posted.
Look forward to seeing you at these remaining shows.”
The Dead Daisies are scheduled to release their sixth studio album, Radiance, on September 30th. Read further details about this forthcoming release by clicking here.

Get well Glenn, and don’t rest on your laurels – Dino is no slouch, this dude is an incredible singer. He could front just about any hard rock band out there.
First off get well soon Glenn! One of the greatest rock singers of all time still going strong after all these years. However, I’m not a fan of bands not canceling shows and instead finding replacements for key members so that they can still play when someone gets sick or injured. If I’m going to see the current lineup of the Dead Daisies, and I have all of their cd’s, the biggest reason is to see Glenn and Doug Aldrich. Reschedule the tour! This happened with Lamb of God when Randy Blythe (pronounced Bly) had to be replaced for at least one show. Also, the Winery Dogs are going to have someone fill in for Billy on bass due to some travel restrictions or something. Really?? I guess these dudes need money but in my opinion it’s not fair to the fans.
Hi RPS,
It isn’t the Winery Dogs who are replacing Sheehan, it is Sons of Apollo, on their South American tour. Since the Winery Dogs are a three piece band, I don’t think they would replace Billy, but would be more likely to cancel, and reschedule, dates.
I agree, The Daisies should cancel those dates. Nut, they did write in their statement, that they are working with the ticketing agent to figure out how to issue refunds. I would expect that many people will request them.
D 🙂
No,No,No, this is no good. You cannot replace Glen Hughes and expect the show to go on! The people will not be getting what they paid for. I am really looking forward to this new release!
Wow I`d be pissed if Glenn wasn`t performing .
Get better soon Glenn cya in September .
Thank you Dana! I meant Sons of Apollo.
No worries…
