SEBASTIAN BACH’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY “18 AND LIFE ON SKID ROW” WILL BE RELEASED ON APRIL 12TH, COVER REVEALED

sebastian_bach-400 Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach’s autobiography, 18 And Life On Skid Row, will be released on April 12th, 2016 through HarperCollins Publishers.

The book is described as: 18 And Life On Skid Row tells the story of a boy who spent his childhood moving from Freeport, Bahamas to California and finally to Canada and who at the age of eight discovered the gift that would change his life.

Throughout his career, Sebastian Bach has sold over 20 million records, both as the lead singer of Skid Row and as a solo artist. He is particularly known for the hit singles I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild and 18 And Life, and the albums Skid Row and Slave To The Grind, which became the first-ever hard rock album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and landed him on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Bach then went on to become the first rock star to grace the Broadway stage, with starring roles in Jekyll & Hyde, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Rocky Horror Show. He also appeared for seven seasons on the hit television show The Gilmore Girls.

“In his memoir, Bach recounts lurid tales of excess and debauchery as he toured the world with Bon Jovi, Aerosmih, Motley Crue, Soungarden, Pantera, Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses. Filled with backstage photos from his own personal collection, 18 And Life On Skid Row is the story of hitting it big at a young age, and of a band that broke up in its prime. It is the story of a man who achieved his wildest dreams, only to lose his family, and then his home. It is a story of perseverance, of wine, women and song and a man who has made his life on the road and always will. ’18 And Life On Skid Row’ is not your ordinary rock memoir, because Sebastian Bach is not your ordinary rock star.” See the book’s cover below.

Sebastian Bach will be part of Monsters Of Rock Cruiseโ€“Shredders From The Deep which also features 40+ bands including headliners Tesla, Steve Vai, Extreme, Queensryche; Helloween, Y&T and others. The cruise departs from Miami and takes place from February 22nd-26th. Click here for more information.

I know I am supposed to be objective, but that is a STUNNING picture of Bach on the cover. Beautiful hair and face, I am so jealous. LOL!

Why is there a picture of Alicia Silverstone on the cover of his book?

I actually think Bas may be prettier. ๐Ÿ˜‰

File photo from the ’80s. No way he looks like that now.

Obviously, that is a vintage picture, I think that maybe the cover he shot for Rolling Stone. Even if it is old, it is still a great picture.

Oh, big deal. Sebastian Bach wrote a book. Skid Row, featuring a new singer, will play the local Moose Lodge in my town. Beat that, Bas!

Disappointed about the book’s title. I would have preferred “Sebastian Bach – SAVAGE ANIMAL!!!”

It seems like nearly everyone in bands from the last 30-40 years is writing books. Some are great and most are not. And these books are usually filled with inaccuracies and exaggerations. But sometimes I guess that’s needed a little to keep the book interesting. I can see Sebastian’s book being entertaining and he’ll probably piss everyone off in the process.

I could be wrong, but was Ian Gillan on Broadway when he did Jesus Christ Superstar in the early 70’s?

    • Tyger of Pan Tang on

No, I believe that he simply came in at a very early stage of production, around 1969, sang everything his role required straight through, then got into a squabble over money. And then his role in Purple was confirmed. The only available recording of those sessions is “Gethsemane”, available on youtube.
Ted Neeley came in after him, and took several months to record what Gillan had done in a few hours.
Gillan never performed on Broadway with Superstar, though he add-libbed a couple of lines on the “Nobody’s Perfect” live album from the late 80s.

No, i have the double album, and Gillan is all over it.

correct. I believe the theme song was “black nights on broadway”.
