SAMMY HAGAR ANNOUNCES A BOOK TOUR

sammyhagar400pix Singer Sammy Hagar will be out on the road promoting his latest project, Are We Having Any Fun Yet?: The Cooking & Partying Handbook, due for publication September 15th.

He will begin the book tour the day before it arrives in stores, appearing at Bookends in Ridgewood, N.J., and he’s currently scheduled to make seven stops in all, finishing on September 23rd at Books Inc. in San Francisco. See the entire itinerary below.

“It’s pretty much the manual for throwing a party and the culinary lifestyle I’ve had on the road my whole life,” Hagar explained. “My grandfather was a chef, and my mom was a great cook. And I have all these chef friends — Emeril Lagasse and all these people that I hang out with and cook with and do charities with. So it’s all about that. All my drink recipes from my different spirits, what to pair while eating and drinking. It’s really fun.”

Are We Having Any Fun Yet? is Hagar’s second attempt at the bestseller lists, following his hit 2011 memoir Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock.

    1. Look, I am fan of the original line up, but DR, Sammy is LOADED.

He may have more money than the Van Halen’s and Roth combined. He sold his Tequila company for $80 million dollars! He doesn’t have to play arenas, he can buy one and play it if he so chooses. He is a very smart businessman. No wonder he is always smiling, I would happy just living off his interest. 🙂

      D 🙂

    2. DR, Sammy has said numerous times that he prefers to play smaller, more intimate venues. Besides there really aren’t that many rockers left from the 70’s & 80’s that can play arenas or stadiums anymore anyway, except maybe AC/DC, of course! And it’s only 1 cook book, and I’m actually really looking forward to it! I love VH, and I love the Red Rocker, just enjoy the “Best Of Both Worlds,” – music, and food! 🙂

    3. Nice one Elliot. I wish it were true. Dana/Doug, this isn’t about being loaded. If that’s the best a Sammy defendant can offer, it proves my point…..with all due respect because I love you two so much.

    4. DR,

I am not a Hagar defendent, nor an apologist, just saying I admire his business acumen and his ability to expand his brand.

BTW, Doug and I love you as well. (Winky face).

      D 🙂

    5. DR, my brother from another mother, 😉 have you ever seen Sammy live? Solo, Wabo’s, Chickenfoot, The Circle? Sammy doesn’t need a defendant, he let’s the music do the talking, and that’s all that matters! I’m sure anybody who has seen Sammy live would agree it was one of, if not the best times of their lives! Tequila, Rum, and a cookbook, all rock ‘n’ roll related, what’s wrong with that? Now let’s look at over the 3,000 products Gene Simmons sells, …just sayin’. CABO WABO DR, love ya bro, now GET YOUR BUZZ ON! 🙂

    6. Amen James! That’s exactly why Mad Anthony hooked up with and decided to stay with the Red Rocker! Besides the music, everybody in the biz knows Mikey is the nicest, most easiest going guy around, even he got to a point where he just couldn’t deal with the VH drama anymore. Making music, playing live, having fun, “Livin’ It Up!” That’s what it’s all about. Cabo Wabo James! Cheers. 🙂

  1. Who cares how much money he has? So he has some great managers, investment advisors and good taste in booze….doesn’t change the fact that he’s still a bitter crybaby regarding all things Van Halen!

    1. Firstly, I said that I am a Van Halen purist. Secondly, it seems the mud has been slung on both sides of the fence.

Thirdly, since you are always the ONLY one on here singing the praises of Steel Panther, sorry if this sounds rude, that pretty much sums it up for me. LOL!

      D 🙂

    2. dana. I am a modern orthodox van halen. I only listened to the van halen 3 song that eddie sang lead on, “how many say oy”.

    3. Well , if you’re going to base something on the fact that someone likes a band that you don’t…your opinion isn’t quite valid, is it?

    4. In this particular case, I tend to think most people would think the reverse. 😉

No matter what you think of Hagar, he has way more talent in his pinky nail, then that unfunny Spinal Tap parody has any day. They should go back to being a Van Halen tribute band, I had way more respect for them when they were playing REAL music, even if it wasn’t their own. LOL!

      D 🙂

    5. That’s it, no more Cabo Wabo Tequila or Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum for Jason! Let it go Jason, Sammy’s never been happier, doesn’t want a reunion with VH, now get on your “Bad Motor Scooter” and ride!

    6. I have nothing to let go…just saw my third Van Halen show this tour tonight, and all is right in the rock world as long as Diamond Dave is fronting the band. It’s just pathetic how you people swing all over this clown’s nuts and don’t see him for the bitter and jealous troll he really is! Btw, not a mention of Hagar from any of the members of VH tonight…unlike the childlike mudslinging Spammy the Clown does at his live shows!

    7. Bitter about what? About Ed being a wasted alcoholic for decades, stumbling around the stage on their last tours? Maybe it’s the lie about Mike having to video tape everything Ed did so he knew what to play? Maybe it’s the endless stretches of time where Sammy and Mike would wait for Ed to get his crap together in order to play and write some songs…which never happened. Why would he be bitter about that? Why would he be bitter about the millions of albums VH sold with massive tours? He’s not.

He’s fed up with the incoherent and mean statements from a guitar icon regarding the past.
Sammy’s just fine. He could stop playing today and sit on the beach in Mexico for the rest of his life.
