RUMORS FLYING THAT DRUMMER CHRIS SLADE WILL BE REJOINING AC/DC

chrisslade640 Former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade is rumored to be rejoining the band in place of Phil Rudd.

The band are due to play at the Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles next week, but Rudd isn’t allowed to leave New Zealand as a result of his court case over charges of threatening to kill and drug possession.

Slade was set to make a publicity appearance at The Optometry Practice in California on Saturday, but cancelled at short notice. Dr Alex Robin Liu, who owns the establishment, said via Facebook, “There’s actually big news regarding Slade and his career coming in several days, which is why he had to reschedule this event.”

Asked if the news was related to a band “spelt with four letters and a lightning bolt” Liu responded, “I am not totally sure to be honest with you. I am hoping for that!”

The Welsh drummer originally joined AC/DC in 1990 and was replaced when Rudd was brought back in 1994.

In December Slade admitted he stopped playing for three years after the split, describing it as “a real kick in the balls.”

Rudd recently insisted he’d be with the band when they tour in support of 17th album Rock Or Bust – their first without guitarist Malcolm Young.

Good to hear. Slade is as solid as they come. Hate that it isn’t The Rudd, but his wheels have flown off too hard.

Rudd, Wright, Slade, no matter who’s on the drums, AC/DC will still “Shake Your Foundations”!! 😉 That’s 1 thing that will never change! 😉

If it’s true I hope they bring back some Razors Edge stuff they haven’t done since that tour. I’m tired of Thunderstruck. Maybe Are You Ready or Moneytalks would be cool.

Wonder if this is just a one time only gig or if Slade is the drummer for the foreseeable future. It doesn’t appear Phil is anywhere near getting his shit back together, and he’s still facing prison time if convicted in New Zealand.

I’m not going to subject myself to watching the Grammys live while waiting to see AC/DC perform. I’ll just catch it on YouTube later in the evening.

I hate the idea of replacing Phil, but if he’s a F up and can’t get his act together, Slade is the obvious replacement. Dude is one solid drummer and full of energy, and plays the AC/DC songs very, very well.
