  • Harry Belafonte
  • While I occasionally find Tibetan monks chanting hypnotic, I cannot get into The Hu.

  1. Non hard rock/metal – I LOVE Hall & Oates, Huey Lewis & The News, The Beach Boys, The Bee Gee’s, Stray Cats, just to name a few! When I have more time I’ll post some more non hard rock/metal faves!

    1. Okay, so, Kool & The Gang, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Gap Band, Prince, ABBA, Barry Manilow, and just about all pop/Top 40 from the 60s, 70s, and 80s! I’ve always been a music fan first and foremost, everything from Rock (hard & soft) Metal, old school pop, old school R&B, Funk, Punk, Soul, Jazz, Yacht Rock (Christopher Cross, Pablo Cruise, etc.) Disco, Southern Rock (38 Special, Molly Hatchet, etc.) New Wave, even some old country, way too many artists/bands to name! Simply put, to quote the O’Jays, I Love Music!! 😉

  2. I would pick queen KISS and ABBA and other hard rock music as well I love to listen to the same music over and over again because that is just who I am!

  3. Electric Light Orchestra. I had the belt buckle of the Out Of The Blue spaceship I proudly wore to elementary school!!
I begged my dad to take me to the stadium show in Cleveland in 1978 but he said I was too young 🙁

Also the rock opera Evita. The Andrew Lloyd Webber/Time Rice version. My parents played this over and over as a child. I still play it some today

    1. I’ve seen Jeff Lynne’s ELO twice – o2 London in 2016 and Wembley Stadium in 2017. Both shows were really good. The Wembley Stadium show was released as a DVD under the name Wembley or Bust.

    1. It shouldn’t, because Dynasty is a ROCK album! Only ONE song out of 9 is disco-ish, call it whatever you want, but IWMFLY is a GREAT song!

    2. What about The Game from Queen? Remember “Another One Bites The Dust? Funny how Queen never got any backlash for AOBTD, which is just as disco-ish as IWMFLY!

    3. Hi Doug R.,

So sorry, but I have to disagree with you on this one. I would never categorize Queen‘s Another Bites The Dust as Disco, not even close. Pop? Perhaps. Funk? Maybe? Disco? Nope, no way, not even close.

On the other hand, in my humble opinion, KISS‘ I Was Made For Loving You is definitely Disco light and heavy on cheese.

    4. Queen took the bassline from Chic’s song Good Times! It’s totally disco-ish! Listen to Good Times then listen to AOBTD! Dana & I rarely disagree, but on this we’ll just agree to disagree, or disagree to agree! 😉 Lol

    5. Doug R.

I know Good Times, that song was everywhere. I can see where you are going, okay…but still not exact. Queen‘s base line, to me, still sounds more funky than Disco.

Yes, on this rare occasion, we can agree to disagree. 🙂

    6. Dana I actually used to use the lyrics from I Was Made For Loving You to pick up women. It actually worked twice!

    7. John Deacon used to hang out with Nile Rodgers, he said Rodgers totally inspired him to write AOBTD!

    8. My fiancee has worked with Nile Rodgers and knows Chic‘s current bassist, Jerry Barnes, very well. Barnes also toured with Roberta Flack.
