I listen to a varied array of music. I can fill up a long paragraph with unexpected tastes. Here’s some: 60s and 70s bubblegum music like The Grass Roots, The Simple Image, 1910 Fruit Gum Company. Also, I enjoy 70s and 80s pop, but leaning toward New Wave and stuff like Captain and Tenille. Gary Numan, Thomas Dolby, Culture Club (Boy George has an amazing voice), Obscure garage rock like Plasticland, The Knickerbockers, Music Explosion. Barry Manilow is a lifelong fave, saw him at Radio City. Fantastic. That covers some. Cool question!
I love the song “Lights” by Ellie Goulding. I love the song “If It Isn’t Love” by New Edition. I love the new Stanley/Simmons album. I think Carrie Underwood is the greatest female vocalist in the history of country music.
I like some Irish step much such as tellmema, , dance above the rainbow and Riverdance. some Renaissance faire music, and music from Tchaikovsky Nut Cracker ballet.
Don’t Laugh…
Barry Manilow (seen him in concert like 5 times)
The Monkees (their whole catalogue, not just their hits!)
Olivia Rodrigo (yes, i like her music, like her lyrics, i think all 3 of her albums are REALLY GOOD!!)
I know as a Beatles fan I am not suppose to like The Monkees, but I do. I loved their show, too.
The Monkees are awesome! I still watch the TV show if it’s on, and my playlist is teeming with Monkees songs!
Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne, Jackson 5, The Spinners, The Supremes, The Osmonds, The Stylistics, Bee Gees, Rick Springfield, KC & The Sunshine Band…..too many to name all of them.
So, you do like modern country if you like Shania & Taylor. lol
Tasker, I don’t consider Taylor Swift or Shania Twain “country” artists. To me, they’re just pop artists. I don’t hear country music in their songs….or maybe i just don’t want to hear it.. :o)
