If this question was posed to me back in the 80s or the early 90s, my answer would have been, I think I could do it, but it would be very difficult.
Today? A week would be a cake walk. I have gone weeks, and sometimes a couple of months, without listening to music. I tend to watch lots of TV, and podcasts, so that would be a far bigger crutch for me to give up for even a couple of days, let alone a week.
As for what I would use to break my audio fast? Other than it being upbeat and kick ass, I don’t know. My guess would be something from AC/DC, Van Halen, Priest, Lynch Mob, Ratt or even Airbourne?

Yes. Boston’s Feelin’ Satisfied.
I’d have no problem fasting from music for a week or more. there was a time in my life, my mid 20’s where I went a couple of weeks listening to just Howard Stern in the mid-90’s. Conversely, I listened to Zep III for 4 weeks straight and nothing else in the Autumn of ‘95.
I think the band I would first go to would either be the Eagles. What song, I’m not sure. Probably Take It To the Limit, Try & Love Again or Pretty Maids in A Row.
There is no way I could give up listening to music for a week. However, if a situation ever arose where it happened, the first song I would listen to would have to be a banger song…..either “Holy Wars…” by Megadeth or “Battery” by Metallica.
Ooooh… this is brutal. I can do it, but I’ll need to somehow curb the jones lol. First song back? The entire Screaming For Vengeance record. So, technically, the first is The Hellion/Electric Eye. But if you think I’m stopping it after that, you’ve got another thing coming!
Maybe, I will have to drop by Mr. R N’ R, 🙂
BTW, I wrote you back regarding my fiancee, Jellyfish and, apparently, their band offshoots?
Dana, lol you are always welcome to hang out and jam Priest! I thought I wrote back about your fiancee and Jellyfish, etc. Maybe I did something wrong. My apologies! I remember what I said: Eric Dover was guitarist for Jellyfish, he also played with Alice. He did play standing up on drums during “Halo Of Flies”, but played guitar on that tour. He and Roger Manning from Jellyfish had a band called Imperial Drag, with Eric on lead vocals and guitar. GREAT ALBUM. They only recorded one, but boy it’s a banger. Your fiancee has exquisite taste in music, by the way! And so does his fiance! ⚡
No,
I responded to your question, you aked about if he heard of another band?
