QUESTION OF THE WEEK: AS PER POSTER RICH, WHICH ARTISTS DO YOU THINK SHOULD HAVE BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME AND HAVE NOT BEEN YET OR YOU FEEL HAVE BEEN SNUBBED?

No shock here, John Sykes, I don’t care if he gets inducted with either Thin Lizzy or Whitesnake.

  1. Three bands that I’d like to throw into the mix: NY Dolls, Styx, and Boston.

I’m actually surprised that the Dolls haven’t been inducted. They may not have sold many albums, but their influence is HUGE on glam (they even pre-date Hanoi Rocks). They were also the darlings of critics and 1970s hipsters (Bowie, Iggy, Lou Reed, Warhol, etc.).

As for Styx and Boston, I understand that ’70s Corporate Rock isn’t seen kindly by the RRHoF, but – come on! – if Foreigner has finally made it in, surely Styx and Boston shouldn’t be far behind.

  2. For me, Ronnie James Dio (solo), Scorpions, Thin Lizzy, Megadeth, Slayer, and probably Motörhead are all long overdue for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame consideration. On a personal level, Scorpions are one of my all-time favorite bands, so I’d especially love to see them get recognized. Whether any of these artists will actually be inducted remains to be seen, but it sure would be nice, wouldn’t it? Others have mentioned Nugent and Hagar, can’t argue with that. Uncle Ted is so polarizing though, so it will always be a steep climb for him. Sammy? Absolutely!!
