PROCURING MURDER CHARGE DROPPED AGAINST AC/DC DRUMMER PHIL RUDD

philrudd400 According to the Stuff.co.nz, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd’s charge of attempting to procure murder has been withdrawn. Rudd, 60, appeared in the Tauranga District Court yesterday, charged with attempting to procure the murder of two men. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and threatening to kill.

Rudd’s lawyer, Paul Mabey QC, said this afternoon the Crown solicitor withdrew the attempting to procure murder charge after a meeting between Mabey and police.

“The decision to charge Mr. Rudd was made by the New Zealand Police without consultation with the Tauranga Crown solicitor,” he said. The Crown solicitor said there was insufficient evidence to justify the charge and has withdrawn the charge, Mabey said.

The Crown solicitor’s office confirmed the charge had been withdrawn. “The charge alleging an attempt to procure murder should never have been laid,” Mabey said.

“The Crown solicitor’s opinion was not sought.”

Mabey said Rudd would defend the threatening to kill charge. He described the drugs possession charges as “minor.”

“Mr Rudd has suffered unnecessary and extremely damaging publicity as a result of widespread and sensational reporting of a very serious allegation, which on any basis was never justified.”

Rudd was released on bail after yesterday’s appearance.

According to the charges laid and now withdrawn by police, Rudd had tried to get two men killed, their names and that of the intended hitman were all suppressed by the judge.

Police were contacted for a response, and said a statement would be issued soon.

Their 3 worst albums for certain.

Their 3 least great albums is more like it. AC/DC was huge by the time they made those albums and Malcolm thought they were getting too polished and commercial. Those albums weren’t an excuse to go out on tour and make money. They were good, stripped down to the basics albums. Even the cover of Flick was stripped down, a drawing of Angus flipping a switch with a white cover. Give those albums another listen without comparing them to Back In Black.

Totally agree, “Flick” and “Fly” are awesome albums, so underrated. Good news on conspiracy to kill charges being dropped. Now Phil, get clean dude!!

Flick of the switch has a few good tunes on it, same with Fly on the wall. Don’t care for Blow up your video, and I actually thing Razor’s Edge is too slick. Gimme some good ole Bon era records. I honestly think that the first 2 with Brian were the last really great AC/DC records until Black Ice. I know I’m gonna get lambasted for this lol

Blow Up Your Video is the easily the weakest of the 80’s albums AC/DC put out. Flick of the Switch, although it’s not really a “classic” it ain’t bad either. The title track and Nervous Shakedown are good songs. But I feel the same way about the Bon Scott albums. Start to finish, the entire Bon era is brilliant and my favorite.

I’m glad he’s not that bad of a guy but that picture is awful and the band is distancing themselves from him. The police and prosecutors abroad definitely have sinister motives (I.e. Amanda Knox) but what brought them into his life. He’s rich, famous, talented and away from home often. Perhaps at 60 years old maybe it is time to make better choices…

    NOW WHERE WERE WE:

Paul Stanley hates who? Ace and Gene and the MLB HALL OF FAME or is Peter and

Hmmmmm. Do you mean babbling mess of an idiot? I do not use meth or any other illegal substances. I have achieved greatness with my commentaries through the ages. Dickey Betts is the one and only RAMBLIN MAN or actually Duane Allman who that song is about. I will not call myself that. People on this site bore me with their self importance and it is my obligation to change things up. Read my words and take comfort in my message. I am not your enemy, I love you as God loves me. How many guys talk about how much they hate Gene Simmons? How am I supposed to comment on a guy I don’t know getting arrested in a country I’ve never been to? As far as you are concerned, you should not make jokes about meth. NOT FUNNY AT ALL.

    Somebody goofed –
Phil looks like hell in his court photo and will look a lot worse if he keeps doing meth.
