Gene tells me that Kiss invented makeup.

      LOL!

      (Read in Gene Simmons voice):

“You know, Dana. Paul and I put out our own KISS makeup line in 1977. In fact, it was the same year that I discovered Van Halen. But to answer your question, not only did we put out KISS makeup, I myself INVENTED makeup. Ace and Peter didn’t want me to invent makeup, but what would you expect from two guys who were in the cosmos, high on drugs and alcohol? The makeup that I did NOT invent was Vinnie Vincent’s makeup. That was all Paul. Incidentally, Vinnie is a supremely talented guy, but can’t help shooting himself in the foot. Speaking of feet, I also invented socks. Paul says that socks existed before I invented them, but not true. I invented socks. In fact, I invented Van Halen socks. But Bill Aucoin didn’t like socks, so I gave the Van Halen guys their demos and their socks, and sent them back to Los Angeles. Here’s a true bit of KISStory: I’ve used socks to remove the KISS makeup that I invented ever since we played a gig in Regina, Saskatchewan on April 11, 1974…”

(I had to edit out the other 35 minutes of Gene’s answer to Dana, due to time and space constraints)

Dana, Remco put out the Kiss Your Face makeup kit in 1978, and another makeup kit was put out in 1996 during the Reunion Tour.

I figured, but did they create a makeup line exclusively for women, as in cosmetics, like this line appears to be?

  • Doug R. on

You’ve got to be kidding me! I like the candles though! They’re pretty cool!

  • Charles Clinchot on

I’m sure they have at least their Halloween makeup kits
