OPERATION: MINDCRIME FEATURING FORMER QUEENSRYCHE FRONTMAN GEOFF TATE SIGNS WORLDWIDE RECORD DEAL WITH FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL

Queensryche pose for a portrait at The Culture Room. Operation: Mindcrime — featuring singer Geoff Tate, bassist Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake), drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio), guitarist Kelly Gray (Queensryche) and keyboardist Randy Gane (Myth) — has signed a worldwide record deal with Frontiers Music Srl for their forthcoming trilogy project.

“All of us in Operation: Mindcrime are looking forward to the new frontier with our new label, Frontiers Music Srl,” states Tate regarding the signing. “They’re giving us the creative freedom necessary to do the trilogy project I’ve envisioned for the past few years. It’s going to be great fun for all of us involved and we hope our fans will enjoy listening to it as much as we plan to enjoy creating and recording it.”

Ecstatic to have the band on his label, Frontiers Music Srl President Serafino Perugino comments, “As a long time fan of Geoff Tate and Operation: Mindcrime (the album), I am truly honored that he decided to sign with my label to give a home to his forthcoming trilogy. We look forward to release Operation: Mindcrime’s new music to the world!”

Tate, who has always enjoyed telling stories though his music, considers the creation of the forthcoming trilogy one of his biggest and most ambitious works to date.

“I tried to reduce the story and eventually got it down to 37 ideas that needed representing to complete the story,” comments Geoff. “I knew that one record wouldn’t cover it and that it would have to be a trilogy.”

Operation: Mindcrime, named after Queensryche’s epic concept album from 1988, recently entered the studio to begin recording the album that is expected to be released in the late Spring/early Summer of 2015.

Stay tuned for further details of the project in the months ahead.

Wait, Tate doesn’t have to beg his fans to buy stock in his band to record THREE records? That’s what happens when you actually go out and tour and are not taking lazy fly in/weekend dates. Hate him all you want, but he works 10x harder than the other 3 guys ever did and will.

I will always be a Tate fan ..
I really dont care if he spit on his band during the show because they were firing him behind his back !! I dont care if he has a ego or not. Most singers do..
I like all the Queensryche albums post HITNF . Sure they were weaker but who’s isnt thats been churning out music for 30 years ? Look at AC/DC new one ,. I love ac/dc more than Tate and have been seeing them since 81 but it sucks compared to everything but stiff upper lip
I could go on and on with weak music now from old bands, Crue, Priest , on and on.

I even went to the cabaret show and thought it was great ! No different than the theatrics manson and many others do.
To fire your singer 10 years ( tops) before your career is over is stupid imo..

Look at the pos eddie, whip and scott put out . Was it heavier ? sure
was it any good ? no imo

Why didn’t they come to Tate and say ” hey, we’re going to fire you if we cant’ have more input ”
You know damn well Tate would have tried to make it work then .. Knowing that he only has 25% stock in the name..
Were they that afraid to talk but just put up with it for their “claimed” 12 years or more ?

Well Todd, I hope you and the other 30 people that happen to be in the bar enjoy the Operation: Mindcrime show. I am sure it will be a hoot.

Public Service Announcement: This is crap, I repeat, this is crap. If you buy this, you need to turn in your Rock Card or it will be revoked. No self respecting rock n roll fan should go anywhere near this heaping pile of steaming horse vomit.

SparkyDR99, the only thing Geoff Tate works hard at is being a d-bag.

I thought this was a picture of the village people for a second!

The pic looks like they just walked to the side of some office building and took it…very strange that Sarzo and Wright would be part of something awful so I am interested to at least hear it, but the pic, band name and that stupid smirk on Tates face is all very weird…Frontier must be losing their ass on all these supergroups that put out albums that sell a few thousand…I don’t get it, unless it just must be so cheap to make a record now, and Frontier is backing a tour?? I love that a label is out signing bands and backing them…I just don’t see how they are making money on some of the groups they have backed and this is another one.
