KISS’ TOMMY THAYER DISCUSSES HIS PLANS AFTER THE BAND COMPLETES THEIR “END OF THE ROAD TOUR”

During the question-and-answer portion of An Evening With Tommy Thayer on February 23rd at the Outtakes Bar & Grill in New Hope, Minnesota, KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer was asked what his plans are for after the band completes its End Of The Road farewell tour in July 2021.

He responded (as per blabbermouth.net), “I get asked that question a lot in interviews these days. I don’t really know. We’ve got about another year and a half to go on this tour…The last show’s gonna be July 17, 2021 in New York City. So I don’t really know exactly what my plans are at the end of this. KISS is not gonna go away, though, either. The band is not gonna tour, but the KISS music, the identities and the characters and the brand and the merchandise, that will all continue on. I think that KISS will continue on in some way. I can’t imagine it not.”

I’m going to steal the suggestion that everyone over at Blabbermouth was giving to Thayer:

Start a group called “Thayer’s Comet”.

What about “Ace’s Faces?” Or “Faces Of Ace?”
I hear Ace might be looking for another roadie soon if Tommy’s interested, I mean, everybody knows how much Tommy loves to follow in Ace’s footsteps.

Doug R., I’ll say it again…(it’s over on the Trunk Report) you were right about I Was Made For Lovin’ You…it’s getting serious airplay in my 2010 Jaguar XF where it transformed into just a killer song…Kiss did Turbo before Priest did it…

    • Doug R. on

It’s always been a killer song! Whatever you want to call it!

Tommy Thayer will probably form an Ace Frehley tribute band cuz he’s made a career impersonating Ace since his early 90’s tribute band, Cold Gin. Heck, he even named his first tribute band impersonating Ace, Cold Gin, after an Ace Frehley penned song! Thayer will continue being Gene and Paul’s b-tch and mow their lawns and clean their rain gutters.

Thayer has made a lot of money and has made quite a career for himself impersonating the real Spaceman. I realize if it wasn’t Thayer, or Eric Singer, it would be somebody else impersonating the iconic characters. But it makes me so sick seeing others impersonating the real Spaceman and real Catman. The original KI$$ is my all time favorite band. KI$$ formed with the original members developing characters of their alter egos. That was a basis for the foundation of the band. If that foundation exists within the current version of the band, and i don’t think it does, then i can only surmise that both Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer’s alter egos are the real Spaceman and real Catman….and i think that’s just pathetic.

Thayer should return to Black n Blue with Jamie St. James. They were a great band in the 80s. He is a skilled guitarist who is capable of making it on his own merits rather than “making it” impersonating someone else.

He’s going to impersonate Bruce Kulick……

    Stay safe and healthy everyone!!

Stay safe Dana. I’m part of essential personal, so I have to travel to work. I’m in Jersey and happy to still have a job, but still scary every time I leave the house. Daughter is scheduled for surgery at Hospital, for specialized surgery, in May, and has have test done in April. I’m sure it will be postponed cause I’m not setting foot in Manhattan (I never thought I say this but I love going into the city) stay safe all and wash ur hands and keep your distance.

    • Dana on

I get it and don’t blame you a bit. Please stay safe my friend, and keep us posted. Bless you and your family.
