Well, it’s like I’ve said before, it all depends on who’s in, and who’s out. And no matter how bad Paul’s voice is, I want it 100% live! (Or close to it) won’t matter if every living member of KISS is there, if it ain’t live, I won’t be there!

  • robert davenport on

look at the dates, plenty of back to back nights , vocal tracks will be used for sure , no way paul sings back to back nights anymore with his “real” voice , i’m sure at this point gene will be using them as well , -I dont think guitar tracks will be used maybe a rhythm track – i’m sure they are rehearsing like mad with a click track ( eric } to perfect the sham – also no confirmed dates with ace or any past members at least i’m not aware of any – I never would have thought kiss would turn into this shit show…..sickening –

speaking of s–t shows , a couple of days ago Robert Fleishman just pulled out of vinnies comeback shows , so now I would not be surprised if this show does not happen at all –

This tour is going to be a sh*t-show – with Rock and Roll Milli Vanilli.
Just when you think Kiss hit their low point.

But then again, Paul is looking for up to $18k for a guitar played in concert (most likely a song)
Paul has enough money for him and his family for generations- you think he would give the fans a break…

  • Keith G on

Again with the KISS bashing from the usual suspects! “If there’s no Ace or Peter, I’m not going!’ “Paul will definitely be using vocal tracks, since his voice is shot! And Gene will probably be using them as well!” Why can’t we just talk about the fact that a classic hard rock band, that has been around for 40+ years selling millions of records and entertaining millions of fans around the world, are launching their last tour? Why can’t folks that don’t want to attend these shows for whatever reason simply refrain from all of the negative comments, and allow the current fans of KISS to enjoy these final shows? If you don’t like the current incarnation of KISS, that’s your prerogative. If you don’t like the way that KISS appears to be handling this final tour, nobody is forcing you to attend any shows. But all of these repetitive negative comments about the band is just ridiculous! Deep Purple and YES, two classic rock bands, are still touring even though they have had many band member changes. Neither of the singers sound as good as they did in the 70’s. But I’ve never seen either of these bands bashed as much as KISS. How about we all just agree to disagree on this subject, and simply STOP?

    • Doug R. on

Hey Keith, nobody asked you. You don’t have to sell KISS to me, or your opinion. I have every right (as do you) to voice my opinion, if you don’t like it, that’s fine, but don’t put me in the “usual suspects” category. BTW, a little KISStory lesson for you, Rock and Roll Over came out in ’76, not ’77, just FYI.

    • Doug R. on

      One more thing…
Hoping for a “reunion,” wanting the show to be “mostly” live, and not wanting to see Tommy & Eric impersonating Ace & Peter is NOT “bashing!”

    • Rattlehead on

Keith, this issue is a very polarizing topic with us KI$$ fans, and your post is sure to receive a s**t storm in return.

I love KI$$. But today’s KI$$ is indeed a glorified tribute band. Deep Purple, Yes, and even Judas Priest have members today that differ from the “classic” lineups. And that’s okay because these new members are their own individuals. And I will continue to support these bands because these members are able to be themselves on stage while playing the bands’iconic songs, many of which some of the current band members didn’t participate in writing or originally recording with the band.

But KI$$ have hired guns directly impersonating Ace and Peter. KI$$’s situation is totally different than the other bands’ situations. It has nothing to do with “selling makeup rights”, it’s about impersonation…plain and simple. Tommy and Eric should have been allowed to have their own identities, but Gene and Paul saw it differently and decided to have them impersonate legends. And exactly like brother Doug R. commented a while ago “Replacing band members is one thing, replacing Legends is something else!” That is such a perfect statement!

And I bet you KI$$ will use backing tracks. Why not use them? Fake Ace, Fake Peter, Fake Vocals…..

    • Doug R. on

I supported Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, Bruce Kulick, 100%! AND I supported Eric Singer, AND Tommy Thayer 100%, (WHEN they were allowed to be themselves!) You know the old saying – 2 wrongs don’t make a right, it doesn’t matter, (let me repeat that) IT DOESN’T MATTER how or why Ace & Peter “sold” the rights to their characters (which are extensions of THEIR personalities) it was wrong, yes, but it was also wrong for Gene & Paul to use those iconic “characters” for their own greed, or whatever you want to call it. Either way, no matter what, it’s just not right! Whatever happened to “to each their own,” and “everybody is entitled to their own opinion?” WITHOUT being labeled, OR categorized! I would love to see KISS one more time as much as anybody, but IMO, (MY OPINION, Keith) this charade is NOT KISS. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, even without the backing tracks, would you go see Alice Cooper without Vincent Furnier being Alice Cooper? Think about it.

Thank you, Keith, for calling out the USUAL SUSPECTS once again. They pontificate on a fake moral throne of fan superiority because they bought albums of this band when they were 12 years old, and somehow it’s the band’s fault for growing older. Apparently the Usual Suspects never grew older. They are still 12 years old. They think they are soooo pure in their opinions and have to lecture those of us who are the TRUE KISS fans. Those of us who love the band and understand and accept time moves on. They claim they are voicing their opinions, but they are attacking KISS with lies, insults, vitriol, and just plain hate. Real fans do not impugn the integrity of men, and that is what they are doing when they attack Paul, Gene, Tommy, and Eric. It is not opinion -it’s hate -from the sameeeeee people. It’s our band guys, not yours. You may go join the caravan of the Greta Van Fleets and Foo Fighters. I’m sure they are looking for some new sycophants.

    • Doug R. on

dcinsc7, as usual you have no idea what you are talking about, and neither does anyone else. – know what you’re talking about.

    • Rattlehead on

D7, what Kool Aid did you drink? Nobody’s insulting the band, or lying. Iconic characters created as extensions of personalities of Ace and Peter are being portrayed by other people – True Statement. Backing tracks may be used on this tour – True Statement. Today’s Paul Stanley has a hard time singing vocals – True Statement.

Our comments are not hate. Rather, they’re passion driven for a band we love.

KISS Kool-Aid coming to a Supermarket near you. Here are our flavors:

      Demon’s Blood (Cherry)
      Starchild Wild (Grape)
      Space Man Fuel (Green Apple)
      Cat Man Nip (Fruit Punch)

Gene, you heard it here first. 🙂

      D 🙂

Man, I put on that Animalize concert that came out in ’84 when Bruce just joined;…Bruce is so green there…lol….he’s just holding on for dear life but he played his ass off…But guys, Paul and Gene are having so much fun up there, they absolutely love what they and they figured out how to get paid well to do it…I mean, if that’s not just a total win-win in this messed up world (it shouldn’t be, this planet is paradise and life is always good….just bad people that messed this up)….Paul and Gene are having a freaking blast o matic rocking and rolling party up there…these guys aren’t doing this for the money.

Tommy and Eric; well I just tell myself that the form is the same but the substance is different…

I will probably skip this tour no matter who’s there; I already have the t shirt, it was a great run and thus I leave it to fate or happenstance to put me at one of these shows.

  • robert davenport on

keith you hate the bashing , I get it but, lip syncing cannot happen in rock or it will really be the last nail in the coffin for the rock genre as we know it , if singing to tracks becomes mainstream in rock its dead in the water- that has to make sense – I have to call it out I feel like I have no choice – the other reason I think kiss fans bash kiss is because we need a place to vent- Eddie has a great site for fans off all hard rock and metal bands to vent and discuss the issues going on with their favorite bands- there also seems to be 2 kinds of kiss fans both really love the band! – there’s the fans that will support the band no matter what which is great ! and the fans that even though they love kiss will call bulls–t on them when its appropriate and over the last few years to me, the kiss that lit me up when I was a kid disappeared – and what took its place was a glorified tribute band with tommy and Eric , playing a part they did not have anything to do with creating -and it seems like this is all hypocrisy so I call bulls–t !- I am entitled to my opinion same as you are – if your on this site and check it out often , you should be posting your thoughts and feelings often as well ,both good and bad – I always enjoy your comments keith ~bob

Well said Robert – plus I will add – its good to poke fun at a band especially when they say and do dumb things.

Let’s not take this too serious – we are talking grown men in makeup and high heels with the 2 founding members pushing 70. Be glad they made it this long.
