  2. Ticket prices are not high for small venues.. Opening nite footage looks and sounds good. I”ve been ripping the setlist.. Surprised at song choices from redeemer of souls. Here”s my setlist..to be played at the pagent..in St Louis.. Many bands feel the pagent in St.Louis is the best small venue in the united states.. Holds 3 thousand and sounds amazing.. Here”s my setlist… Battle cry.. Metalizer.. Metal gods..the ripper..the sinner…saints in hell…. Valhalla… Crossfire…beyond the reams of death..hell bent for leather.. Victims of changes..redeemer of souls..secrets of the dead..painkiller.. Breaking the law..you”ve got another thing coming ..living after midnite.

  3. Well, Rob, he sounds pretty darn good here…songs tuned down slightly, but I’ll give ’em that, his voice sounds strong and clear…but, he looks bored out of his mind, especially on the classic songs, and those new songs are not that good, sorry.

  4. Rock is dead, look at those guys going through the motions, the only guy up there that is really getting into it is the guy pretending to be KK Downing. That he is ‘better’ than KK also shows that rock is dead. It’s this thing called parity. That crowd with their iphones, parents with their kids, dumb people who have no clue as to how earthshaking this band, and rock and roll, used to be. I used to watch Priest and want to ride a motorbike with a hot babe, or be a steel plated machine who didn’t take any guff from anyone…watching this, I want to just have some ice cream and take a nap.

    1. The only thing i’ll agree with you on is the only one who looks like he’s enjoying it is Richie. Glenn on a few videos I’ve seen barely moves and sometimes just stares back at Scott. Granted he’s 67! Overall I think they sound pretty darn good. I, like you, would like to see the Rob of old running around and screaming to the audience in between songs, but don’t think its gonna happen. For 3 of the guys to be in their mid 60s, pretty good.

    2. You’re a grumpy old man, with a negative view point. You’re NOT a fan. So, go take that nap, you need it.

    3. Rock is dead? Way too much negativity around here! Come on Shannon, I have to completely disagree with you on this one. Look, we’re all getting older, including our heroes, but as far as I’m concerned, as long as I am alive, Rock will never die. If you don’t want to support these guys anymore that’s fine, but why criticize them for still rockin’ as best as they can? All be it a little bit slower than their glory days, LOL! I don’t expect to see the same JP I saw 30 years ago, and I’m sure they don’t expect to see the same head banging, insanely energetic, out of control fans they used to see 30 years ago either. If I tried to bang my head now, my neck would probably F’N break! LOL! Nobody’s physically the same as we all were back in1984, but the spirits still there, and for as long as JP & the others are still out there for me, you can be damn sure I’m still going to be out there for them! One way or another, KEEP ROCKIN’! 🙂

    4. Yes, going back to my real name, thanks Doug R, there’s this guy who calls himself “Gothic Killer Clown” who has been harassing my friends on facebook, people are freaking crazy…..Well, where to start…. Priest is not ‘pretty good.’ That doesn’t cut it for the Priest, they set the bar so high, for over a decade, they conditioned me to expect only complete excellence from them, and sorry, that’s what I expect. Allowing for age isn’t part of the deal. I think they are just tired of doing it, they are bored silly, and that guy pretending to be K.K. Downing,–an aside: how can you call yourself a real fan when you tolerate someone pretending to be your hero? This is the kind of B.S. that Kiss does, and it’s all about the money, touring means guaranteed bank, so instead of biting the bullet and doing something else, these guys bet on fans being gullible enough to accept an imitation. When rock and roll actually meant something, bands would either break up, Led Zep, the Beatles, OR they would replace them with someone completely different so they kept their integrity, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, the Eagles, Yes, and Kiss…what’s with this, KK Jr. business? Or Ace Jr? are we that dumb? (ans: yes we are)…——–is the only one up there who is getting into it. I am not a grumpy old man, I just expect rock and roll to be visceral, to have its edge, to do something. Rock and roll now is about maintaining the status quo, and selling people this idea that they are being rebellious when they might as well be watching the Partridge Family You have soccer moms with tattoos now, this is not rock and roll. So, new bands look for ways to be dangerous now, and you have death metal where these guys actually cover themselves in real pig’s blood and then put “corpse” paint over it and play this god-awful racket. Hey, at least it’s different, but that’s not my idea of a good time. Doug R, kids are the ones who keep rock and roll going, it’s always been that way, and for the life of me, I can’t find any new bands that are doing anything exciting, and the old bands have all jumped the shark and are just flogging a dead horse. Sure, some of the veterans still put out good new music, Aerosmtih, Ace, Kiss, Slash, Alice Cooper,…but no one buys it, so it’s a useless proposition now. Hence rock and roll is now reducible to: way overpriced package tours, just to watch some pretty wealthy guys sing the hits at 50% of what they used to. Finally, the burden is never on the fans, and by fans, I mean the ones who buy the albums and the concert tickets, to accept subpar product, the burden is always on the performers to provide a top quality product.

    5. My parent did not get my music one bit, adults were off limits at concerts (adult in the achieved, not ascribed sense), concerts were places that we congregated to find ourselves. That is rock and roll. “Rock and roll” now is like a family picnic with way overpriced booze. You have classic rock radio that will only play the same hits over and over again, they are complicit in killing rock and roll. It’s not an active conspiracy, but no one will take any chances on breaking a new artist because the margin for error is gone. No one buys new music, and the result is no one will invest in it either. Look, I don’t want to be right, and neither did Gene, that’s a mistake people make with his comments.

    6. Shannon, I’ll agree that times have changed, unfortunately, but I refuse to believe for 1 second that JP & most of these other bands are still touring for the money, because they don’t need the money! I believe they’re still touring because it’s just in their blood, it’s what they do, what they’ve always done, what they love. A lot of people don’t realize how much they miss something until it’s gone, (the cheers, adrenaline, the rush, the thrill, energy, excitement, etc.) so I have no problem with someone or a band changing their mind about retiring. Also, BIG difference between Richie/K.K. & Eric/Tommy – Ace/Peter, IMO Richie is NOT trying to impersonate K.K., he CAN’T help the way he looks, the face he was born with, whereas Eric & Tommy CAN! Nobody can replace K.K., and I don’t think or see Richie trying to do that for 1 second, I just see him trying to fit into, and fill some very big shoes. Like I said before, I know how old all these guys are, and I know it’s not 1984 anymore, but as long as they keep rockin’, (at any speed) I’ll keep rollin’! And no matter what, last tour, one more tour, the music will live forever, if you want to stay young at heart, listen to Screaming For Vengeance, works for me. Cheers! 😉

    7. Doug R, really, you have a great attitude, but, you’re telling me that someone puts that big paycheck in front of them…and Scott needs the money, so does Richie, so, the other guys go, “well, let’s do another tour, we’ll keep these guys employed, and make some nice coin for ourselves.” So, Richie just happens to look like KK? So, then, he just happens to dress like him and play like him too? His tremolo work is frighteningly similar. Richie even does a lot of his moves. There is no fresh blood coming in to rock, no new spin, I totally dug nu metal, it was fresh, now that is classic rock. Classic rock is , in fact, all we have now, all rock now is classic rock. When has that ever happened?

    8. Shannon, though they may not be original, maybe you should give Airbourne a shot! If you’ve never heard them before, think of a young, HUNGRY AC/DC, ’75-’79, that’s how much I like these guys! Dana told me about them 3-4 months ago, and I haven’t stopped listening to them since! The energy, hunger, it’s like you’re traveling back in time, to a GOOD time! When I listen to Airbourne, I feel like I’m 17 again, every which way, except physically, LOL! Live it up! Cheers* 🙂

    9. What you are going to see are diabetic, alcoholic guys with their wives who would rather be elsewhere. the music is still good but any positive vibes from the audience are long gone my old friend DOUG R.
