ritchieblackmorerainbow2015lineup640 As previously reported, founding Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, has announced that he will be playing three rock shows in Europe under the name of Ricthie Blackmore’s Rainbow.

Now the guitarist is saying if things go well, he may be open to doing other shows. Speaking with Rich Davenport’s Rock Show about balancing Rainbow and Blackmore’s Night commitments, he said, “Blackmore’s Night will go on, and this is just a brief intermission of playing some good old rock, but with some good friends and some good musicians. And hopefully everybody’s there for the same reason, which is it’s good music and it’s nostalgia, and hopefully everything goes well. And if it works, we’ll do, obviously, more dates. We’re only doing three this first time. But, like I said, if it works, we’ll do more later on.”

Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and guests are scheduled to play at two Monsters Of Rock festivals in Germany on June 17th and 18th and one UK show on June 25th in England at Birmingham Genting Arena. More dates are expected to be announced. Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow will perform “the classic rock anthems of Rainbow and Deep Purple,” according to show announcements. Blackmore reportedly plans to film and record the performances for future release.

I am considering inserting a tooth pick into my pee hole. If that goes well, I might be open to trying it again.

    Hi Dana,
Here seems a good place to tell you I remembered where I had read about Cozy Powell’s “fatal attraction”, high-maintenance girlfriend. Yngwie Malmsteen’s autobiography reveals that Powell called to back out of a tour with him because of her, and then died a few days later.

      Thank you, Tyger,

But, I think you might have clarified this for me on the Powell thread. However, the information about Cozy pulling out of Malmsteen’s tour is new…interesting.

I know I am repeating myself, as I wrote this already, if he was arguing with her on the phone when he crashed, that is tragic. However, if he drove like a speed demon all time, which Tony Iommi alluded to, sadly, this may have been an inevitable conclusion. It’s odd because you would think he would have learned from Rick Allen’s accident. All the same, it’s such a shame, he was one of the best.

Have a great rest of the day,
      D 🙂

If the band is sounding good, and starts gelling after a few shows (which they will), and Richie’s having a good time, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he did a show or two in the states. He lives in NY and his bass player in CT. There’s a demand to see him one more time electric, and there’s $ to be made as well. I would love to see one of these shows.

Does anyone know if he wears leather knee high boots in the summer months?

I know that the doorbell at his house plays only “Greensleeves”.

Harry. Only when he’s cutting the lawn with his scythe. (They help stop the mosquito bites)
