Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, Izzy Stradlin, has responded to recent comments made by singer, Axl Rose, explaining why he did not participate in the band’s current reunion tour.
Rose is quoted as saying, “…With Izzy, it’s something I can’t really describe. I don’t really know what to say about Izzy. You could have a conversation and think it’s one way, then the next day, it’s another way. So I’m not trying to take any shots at Izzy, but his thing is his thing. Whatever that is.”
Stradlin took to his Twitter account where he posted the following message:
“Bulls–t They didn’t want to split the loot equally . Simple as that . Moving right along……..”
Stradlin co-founded the band with his childhood friend, from Indiana, Axl Rose (real name: William Bailey), in 1985. He was major contributor to the band’s classic 1987 debut album Appetite For Destruction along with 1991’s double albums Use Your Illusion I and II. He quit the band the same year, and has stayed out of the limelight, with the exceptions of releasing a few solo projects here and there. He has also resurfaced on a few occasions, to play some live shows, as a surprise guest, of his former band.

Some people might think this is not a good way to treat your childhood friend, Axl.
Fair enough. At least he’s not calling it an “unsignable contract”.
I would prefer that the Guns reunion include Izzy, and I assume a lot of people feel that way. In general, the more members from a band’s main successful period who are present at a reunion the better, but very few people are truly irreplaceable. And that does not mean I’m saying “it doesn’t matter who’s in the band”.
Good for him for speaking out. You’ll notice Duff didn’t back up Axl’s claims to the contrary (which I don’t blame him for). Perhaps Axl felt that Duff an Slash were the “Must haves”, and Izzy and Steven were optional.
Gotta love this stuff. Makes ya wonder did Adler make any money or did he just do it for free all expenses paid for the thrill of it all? I love Izzy coming out with his reply. Truth is awesome!
how sad , money would get in the way of this – there is plenty of money to go around – they are charging an arm and a leg and most of the upper torso including most peoples brains for vip tickets – c’mon man-
it really should have been the original band period – they are all doing well including steven I don’t know him personally but I have not heard anything about him relapsing – why can’t axl and duff and slash just give everyone a fair shake sad……..
