DRUMMER PETER CRISS SAYS THE FACT THAT [THE ORIGINAL KISS LINEUP] IS NOT PERFORMING AT THE ROCK HALL INDUCTION “IS HEARTBREAKING”

peterCriss400 As previously reported, Original KISS drummer, Peter Criss will be special guest on this Saturday’s (March 22nd) episode of That Metal Show.

In the preview clip posted below, as transcribed by blabbermouth.net, Criss explains how he found out about KISS’ Rock Hall induction and he expressed how heartbroken he is that we won’t be performing at the event.

“I got a call from [KISS leaders] Gene [Simmons] and Paul [Stanley], which I hadn’t got a call from them in many, many, many, many, many moons, including when I had my cancer,” Criss said. “And so, all of a sudden, I get a call and I’m being congratulated. ‘We’re gonna have fun.’ And I’m thinking… And I know, as I wrote in my book, there’s a lot of bad blood, and I just don’t trust [those guys] anymore. And I took it with a grain of salt and said, ‘Maybe.’ But then again, I had to go back and read the book myself and go, ‘What, are you crazy? Nothing’s changing. It doesn’t matter what goes on. Something’s gonna happen.’ And I said to [my wife], ‘It sounds too good to be true.'”

He continued: “The fact that we’re not perfoming is heartbreaking. I wanted to. I thought we were going to. I was all up for it. I was crazy enough to think, even if I had to get back in the ‘Cat’ outfit, I would have been proud to do it. Because, whether in or out of makeup, I’ll always be the ‘Catman.'”

  1. I think they should pull a “Pete Rose” By that I mean Petes not allowed in the basball HOF but hes there every induction out front selling autographs. In this case Ace and Peter should do a concert in the closest venue to the RnR HOF ceremonies, make it free admission , autographs for all, whatever it takes to have empty seats for these two ego maniacs and their hired guns. Now that would be damn funny

  2. “In our out of makeup, I will always be the Cat man.” Don’t forget, in or out of makeup, you will also be the guy that had the world by the balls and has just as much responsibility for the fact you are not in the band today. I have yet to hear Ace or Peter ever be totally honest with the fans and say, our drug habits were detrimental to the band and even after getting a second chance in 96, we still could not keep it together. So, for him to come on Eddie’s show and play the victim, it is a bit misleading. Gene and Paul are absolute bastards for some of the things they have done, but lets make sure the blame pie is cut properly.

    1. He also said in the book he was the most talented of the four guys. At least he has that going for him, it showed on One for All.

    2. Good post, Greg. Throughout his entire book he would mention his fuck-ups, but would always turn it around and blame Paul and Gene in some way. Such a victim.

  3. This is just coming from my sixth sense that I’ve developed about Kiss, but Peter talks about how Paul and Gene messed with his head, and I bet that on some of those tours they did after they got back together that: on one tour Gene would be cordial to him and Paul would be giving him the silent treatment, then on the next tour they would switch, Paul would be nicer, and Gene would not talk to him, and I bet they planned this in advance..This is just my hypothesis mind you.

    1. Oh, but I thought Peter was a “guy from the streets of Brooklyn and was in gangs growing up”. So he couldn’t stick up for himself in this context? That’s quite a contradiction, don’t you think. He is an addict. And addicts are never clear-headed, so it’s hard for me to believe that he even remembers what really happened.

    2. Your comment is so illogical. Let’s see: streets of Brooklyn, and on the other hand, a major business corporation, two completely different contexts. The ‘he’s an addict’ is pure ad hominem fallacy, instead of addressing Peter’s argument you attack him personally. You don’t belong on the jury because you are obviously biased against anyone who may have had any kind of addiction issue.

    3. Based on your previous posts – you know, the ones that just run on forever, lack punctuation, and have no substance – you seem to have found a dictionary with Latin terms. Just for the record, that doesn’t boost your credibility at all.

And let’s be clear – addiction is why the original Kiss broke up. Case closed.

    4. What’s funny is you do the same thing to me: attempt to discredit me without addressing what I said; (proper use of a semi-colon) some nonsense about “lacking substance.” Where is this lack of substance that you refer to?
