DAVID LEE ROTH POSTS SONG HE RECORDED WITH JOHN 5

Original Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth has shared a song called Somewhere Over The Rainbow Bar And Grill from the unreleased album he wrote and recorded with guitarist John 5 several years ago. You can now listen to it below.

John 5 got his first big break playing on Roth’s solo album, DLR Band, before playing with Marilyn Manson and now Rob Zombie. His latest sessions with Roth reportedly took place at least six years ago, with the guitarist sharing a snippet of the album during an interview with Masters Of Shred back in May 2019.

This past March, Roth postponed the final six shows of his Las Vegas residency due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer performed as the opening act for the February/March North American leg of KISS’s End Of The Road farewell tour.

Awesome! I actually like this song, a lot! Nice “Crocodile Rock” reference! 😉 So cool that Dave released this song now and dedicated it to EVH.

Dave wasn’t the best singer but he was a great lyricist.

Spot on Rob – the man is colorful and has lived an amazing life. It shows in his lyrics.

Based on his interviews – would love to know what goes on inside his brain. Then again maybe I don’t 🙂

It’s a decent song and I’m sure the record as a whole will be good. But if Dave is planning now a tour of the “Eat ‘Em and Smile” line-up in 2021 would be epic! If not at least a new Talas record is coming soon.

Real great little diddy nice song dedicated to the ultimate guitar god. His singing is not terrible on it. Awesome lyrics.

A bit surprised it’s so pop sounding. Sorry he lost his bandmate and glad they were able to get back together for a couple more times, even if it was without Mikey on bass.
