DRUMMER PHIL RUDD SAYS HE HAS HAD “NO CONTACT WITH ANYBODY” IN AC/DC

philrudd400 Estranged AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd says he’s had no contact from his bandmates since he was charged with threatening to kill and drugs offences.

Rudd, 60, previously pleaded not guilty to all charges, but last month changed his plea to a charge of threatening to kill and another of possessing cannabis and methamphetamine. A second charge of threatening to kill was dropped. He is awaiting sentencing in a Tauranga, New Zealand, court on June 26th, where he faces up to seven years in jail.

He was arrested in November last year and tells Australian TV show A Current Affair that he hasn’t heard from his bandmates since.

Rudd says, “I wrote them a letter, I tried to get in contact with Angus. I’ve had no contact with anybody. I’m very disappointed. But that’s life.”

AC/DC hired former drummer Chris Slade for their touring schedule as Rudd awaits his fate.

On the band continuing without him, Rudd says. “I’m sure they’re having a great old time. I’m sure they’re really enjoying playing. I’m sure it really sounds great. There’ll be another tour and I’ll be on it. It’ll go until we all die. We’ll probably all have to be dead before it stops. I’ve seen the errors of my ways. It’s onward and upward from here.”

AC/DC’s Rock Or Bust World tour begins tonight (May 5th) in Arnhem, Netherlands. The tour will make its way across Europe before heading to North America and Australia.

VAN HALEN TO PERFORM ON THE “2015 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS”

vanhalen640 Billboard and dick clark productions announced today that one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all-time, Van Halen, will perform on the “2015 Billboard Music Awards,” marking the band’s first-ever performance on an awards show with Eddie, Alex, Wolfgang Van Halen and David Lee Roth.

Van Halen join previously announced musical performers Kelly Clarkson, Hozier, Nick Jonas, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, along with special duet performances by “Empire” recording artists Jussie Smollett and Bryshere “Yazz” Gray with Estelle, Fall Out Boy featuring Wiz Khalifa, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea and Meghan Trainor featuring John Legend. The “2015 Billboard Music Awards” will be hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen and broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 17th, on ABC from 8:00 PM–11:00 PM ET.

The legendary rock band blasted onto the Billboard charts in 1978 and has never looked back. Van Halen has sold close to 100 million records, is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has been awarded two Diamond awards by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying individual album sales of more than 10 million units.

Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital songs sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. These measurements are tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. The awards are based on the reporting period of March 10, 2014 through March 8, 2015. Since 1940, the Billboard charts have been the go-to guide for ranking the popularity of songs and albums, and are the ultimate measure of a musician’s success.

Tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster.com. Fans can also choose from multiple VIP premium ticket packages which include limited edition Billboard Music Awards merchandise, an invitation to the official Billboard Music Awards post-party and so much more!
