BRIAN JOHNSON’S AC/DC UPDATE: “IT LOOKS LIKELY WE WILL BE ON THE ROAD BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR”

BrianJohnson AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson posted a news update on his car-racing website by writing that he would need to take a break from his U.K. TV series Cars That Rock in the near future due to “the slight distraction of my day job with AC/DC.” Adding, “It looks very likely that we will be on the road again before the end of the year….Stand by for more music.”

Back in April of this year, the band made an official announcement that it would be moving forward on a new album without one of its founding members, rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who would be “taking a break from the band due to ill health.”

If/when Malcolm recovers and can play with the band again, we’ll all have to scream “Malcolm!” during “Whole Lotta Rosie” instead of “Angus!”.

I agree wait if you can but I don’t think Brian’s voice can wait much longer.

I’ve read most of the posts here and many feel that they should wait for Malcolm. If they are going to make a new album, then yes, they should wait. As far as touring is concerned, they could carry on as they did during the ‘Blow up Your Video’ tour. Although, I think going out with Black Ice (2.5 million copies sold domestically in this day and age is amazing) is more than respectable. The creative/songwriting process doesn’t happen without Malcolm anyway they will probably just tour.

Dave Davies came back, same thing.

Brain will be 67 this year. How much time do you think he has left? I seriously doubt will ever see mal play with the band again at this age. You don’t take 2 years off and then come back this late in the game. We all need to realize our stars are getting older and on the verge or retirement. You can’t play forever and were all going to give out to age and illness.

I’m ok with Stevie taking over and filling in for mal. I don’t think he’d want to let the band down and have them retire before they wanted to.

We were lucky enough to have 40 years of angus and mal together.
