2/17: TMS, STARLAND, SIGNED BOOKS, LAMB OF GOD, RADIO, MORE

Huge thanks to the 700 plus that came out to Starland Ballroom in NJ this past Saturday on an awful weather night to see me, Don & Jim live. Lot’s of fun telling stories and Don & Jim doing stand up. Plus Accept’s Mark Tornillo joined us for a bit and we had some fun audience Q&A. These are fun shows and hope to see you out at upcoming dates in Mexico, Philly, Portland & Seattle. Again these are NOT That Metal Show tapings! But we have fun for sure and appreciate all the great response. I have more solo shows coming up as well and also will be hosting many concerts this Spring and Summer including Hell & Heaven in Mexico City that I was just added to. As always check this site and the appearance grid on the home page for updates, additions and changes.

I’d expect some news on what will happen at the Kiss HOF very soon, maybe even this week.

Great news on AC/DC getting back in action. Their absence maybe makes them bigger than ever. Hope they can make a great new album. Will be a good story to follow how things progress and I will see if I can get Brian back on my shows soon.

2/14: LIVE Q104.3 TONIGHT, PAUL STANLEY HOF COMMENTS, MEXICO CITY, MORE.

After feeling like hell the last couple weeks finally went to the Dr today to see what was up. Some sinus infection so he gave me the ole Z Pack to knock it out. He also told me a new study pretty much says almost all vitamins (including C for cold season) are a waste of money! Can we all get our money back? I swear it is impossible to do the right thing it seems! Regardless I will be back live tonight on Q104.3 NYC 11P-2A ET. Join me for music, talk, news and more, plus lot’s of giveaways. Interesting interview just posted in this sites news section with Paul Stanley on the HOF. I must say he makes many valid points about the Hall in general and I give him credit for speaking out that forcefully on the eve of his own induction. This is one instance where I agree with Paul. Kiss was snubbed for 15 years. This is something I’m sure the HOF (and I know some of their voters) still wish was not happening. Us fans feel this is important, but it is truly a joke if you look at the process and the rules as I have been saying for years. But if they are showing up, and it is only the original lineup (which it is being inducted), let’s hope it is done with the proper respect to that band. I am NOT looking for any original Kiss reunion, but I think MOST fans would agree it’s not asking for too much for a song or two one last time with Ace, Peter, Gene & Paul. We shall see soon. Some news has to come out very soon one way or the other because tickets are about to go on sale and fans will want to know exactly what they are buying and seeing that night no doubt. Let’s also not lose sight of the fact that for us Kiss is the story here. But in reality there are several other bands going in and for the HOF Kiss is likely viewed as a necessary evil here unfortunately. I assure you they are internally more excited about Springsteen’s band or Nirvana in truth. More very soon I’m sure..

Speaking of Kiss, they are one of many bands playing in Mexico City next month at the Hell & Heaven Fest. I was just brought on by the promoter to appear at this event both days. I am not going for interviews or media or TMS. I am going to do some fan meet & greets, stage announces and whatever else the promoter asks of me for the weekend. Whatever my personal feelings about Kiss now, or any band for that matter are, they have nothing to do with an event like this. I didn’t make the lineup and it is not about what I think. I am there to be a pro for the promoter, meet fans, and whatever else may come up. If you are going hope to see you. More news when I have it.

2/13: MEXICO CITY HELL & HEAVEN FEST, RADIO & TMS UPDATE, MORE

Another day of massive snow here in NJ that is continuing as I type. Easily a foot down already on top of the 2 feet that was there. REALLY looking forward to getting to some warmer weather and that will be coming soon! Not only is the MOR Cruise around the corner but I was just confirmed as special guest host at the Hell & Heaven Festival in Mexico City March 15 & 16th. TONS of bands playing this two day event including GnR, Kiss, Rob Zombie, Testament, Korn, Twisted Sister, Lamb Of God and many more. For years I have heard from and met TMS fans in Mexico and now I hope to meet many more at this huge rock and metal event. More details on my schedule when we get closer. 2/11: NEW TMS IS WRAPPED FOR THE WEEK!

Just back from the TMS studio in NYC. Another killer show in the can and set to roll out this Saturday night 11/10C on VH1C. Thanks to guests Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Rudolph Schenker & Klaus Meine of Scorpions (via Skype), Steve Brown on guitar, and Matt Nathanson. Matt is obviously not a metal musician but a HUGE fan of the genre and the show as he more than proves in this episode (and when he wore a TMS shirt on Leno!). Great to meet him and have him on from a different perspective. Really lot’s of fun. Look forward to you guys seeing it this weekend. Photos from the shoot on my Twitter feed and FB.

2/11: NEW TMS; SCORPIONS, ALTER BRIDGE, STEVE BROWN, MATT NATHANSON, MORE.

Great hang in the studio last night for my satellite show with Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge. Fortress was my #2 album of 2013 and was great to discuss it with them and take your calls as well.

Shooting this weeks new TMS tonight. Guests will be Myles and Markm of AB as well as Matt Nathanson. Yes, I know Matt is not a metal or hard rock artist. He IS a metal fan and huge fan of TMS. As a matter of fact he is such a fan he wore a TMS shirt when he performed on Jay Leno! So VH1C thought it would be fun to have him on and talk some metal from an angle of an artist that doesn’t play it, but loves it. Playing guitar in today’s show will be Steve Brown from Trixter. Very underrated player who will shred some EVH style for us. Cool being on the E Coast now and getting all these first time players on. And also in today’s taping we will spend some time with Klaus and Rudolph of Scorpions! They have never been on because they are based in Germany. Now via Skype we can at least get them that way. 2/10: HOUSTON APPEARANCE, TED NUGENT TMS, ALTER BRIDGE, MORE.

Just back from my first visit to Houston this past Saturday night and really my first ever ticketed live speaking engagement. It went down at Concert Pub North and I had no idea what to expect going in. So needless to say I was BLOWN AWAY that nearly 500 people came out to hang with me, hear me tell some stories and do some Q&A. It was a GREAT audience and a true honor for sure. Still amazed to be honest and grateful for the support. After I did about 90 minutes on stage I sat and signed and took photos with everyone in the place for at least another 2 hours. Can not thank you all enough for the incredible support for what I do. Also thanks to John and JD at Concert Pub and the local bands who also played that night, including a killer UFO tribute called Lights Out. It was a great night and I hope to book more Eddie Trunk Live dates soon! Keep an eye on the home page. This Saturday I am at Starland in NJ with my TMS partners Don & Jim for a night of comedy and more. The show is almost sold out so get your tix now if you want to come out. Please note. NO live club gigs by any of us are filmed or used for TMS. They are either speaking dates or comedy shows only. TMS is only done on the set in NYC with VH1C. Thanks.

Speaking of TMS, HUGE response to the Ted Nugent show this week! I’d say 80% very positive and people loved we kept it all about music. There are some of course that are anti Ted and I respect your positions but don’t agree. From a TV/interview perspective I love people that let it fly. We are in a day and age that everyone is SO PC, so afraid to say anything the least bit different than the norm. Everyone is just ready to pounce at anything anyone says that is different from their view. So it is refreshing as heck to have a guy like Ted who just says what he thinks. Do I agree with everything he has done and said? No. But I respect his right to say it. I have said this many times; I watch Bill OReilly and Bill Maher, and love both equally. I sure don’t agree with all they both say, but I love they have the balls to say it, especially in this hyper sensitive world of social media we are in today. I also grew up loving Howard Stern, having strong opinions sure as hell didn’t hurt him. But TMS is a music show, and Ted talked and played all music, and most loved it! It also got many talking about TMS and debating his appearance and that sure doesn’t suck either. I thought it was a great show about music, which as I say in my second book in the chapter on Ted, he is often sadly overlooked for at times. This episode repeats all week on VH1C.
