AC/DC’S BRIAN JOHNSON PERFORMS “YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG” AT ONE OF BILLY JOEL’S MSG SHOWS IN NYC

BrianJohnson In a rare and unusual mix of rock legends, AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson made a surprise appearance at Billy Joel’s concert at Madison Square Garden and played the band’s classic, You Shook Me All Night Long.

Joel introduced Johnson about halfway through the show Friday night, saying Johnson was part of one of the best bands he’d ever seen live. The packed arena erupted when Joel and his band began playing the rock anthem with Johnson on lead vocals.

The show was part of a series of concerts by Joel at the Garden. He’s playing there monthly as an artist-in-residence.

Billy should dedicate the song to Christie Brinkley!

Monkey see monkey do. Bruce Springstein started doing AC/DC covers on his Aussie tour, so I guess Billy Joel sees it’s alright. Who’s next? Elton John and then John Cougar. Maybe Tom Petty. We’ll see….

Not really. Joel’s been a bona fide AC/DC fan since forever. And as jaymay pointed out below, has included an homage to the “aussie” rockers in his set for years.

I want to hear Johnson do a Billy Joel tune. Lets hear him sing Piano Man. Then we’ve got something.

I saw Billy Joel twice in 2006 and both times he did Highway to Hell with a Roadie on vocals and him on guitar. Both times, the audience exploded with a bigger reaction than to any of Billy’s own songs. It was pretty damn cool. However, seeing Brian on Friday night was even cooler. And yes, I’m a metalhead who loves Billy Joel!

3 wives shook him for millions, the first for a fortune mis-managing him with her brother…..we won’t talk about Artie Ripp and the 70 million…..I’d drink Ballantine Beer by the case too…proud sponser of the Yankees in ’65.
