AC/DC TO PERFORM AT THE GRAMMY AWARDS IN FEBRUARY

ac:dc10:17:2014-640 AC/DC will perform during next month’s Grammys ceremony scheduled for February 8th, it’s been confirmed.

Described as “music’s biggest night,” the 57th Grammy Awards ceremony takes place at LA’s Staples Centre and it’ll be broadcast live on US network CBS. The show also features Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and Eric Church.

It’ll be AC/DC’s first live appearance since Malcolm Young was forced to retire as a result of his dementia, to be replaced by nephew Stevie Young. It’s also been revealed that the mainman was treated for lung cancer before he left the band.

But it’s still not known who will be playing drums, since Phil Rudd faces continued legal troubles after being accused of threatening to kill. Despite facing seven years in jail if found guilty, Rudd said last month: “I’m going back to work with AC/DC – and I don’t care who likes it and who doesn’t.”

AC/DC released 17th album Rock Or Bust on December 1st. Vocalist Brian Johnson later admitted he’d been concerned over his ability to perform in the studio, saying, “I went with my fingers crossed and my eyes shut into the singing booth.”

I haven’t watched the Grammys in YEARS, and this year won’t be any different, except for maybe 5 minutes, thanks to AC/DC! 😉

The last time I watched a Grammys broadcast was the year Rollins Band performed the song “Liar” and then lost the metal award to Soundgarden. I can’t even remember what year that was! But I’ll certainly watch for AC/DC. Best case scenario is they open the show. Whenever they do perform, the channel’s getting switched on my tv as soon as they’re finished playing.

James buddy, I do the same exact thing! I have NO interest in the rappers or the Justin Beavers that are probably going to be there, unfortunately, and I’m not going to be tortured having to sit through the sh*t waiting for the real music to come on. If AC/DC opens the show, that would be the best case scenario, that’s all I’m interested in. I wish there was a way to find out the schedule, would save a lot of time, and a lot of wear & tear on my remote control! 😉

I didn’t think their last two albums were strong material wise so hopefully they play one of the classics. They aren’t nominated for anything so I don’t know what they might play.

I am ready to see who is behind the kit for AC/DC. I am hearing rumors.
