QUESTION OF THE WEEK: AS PER POSTER RICH, WHICH ARTISTS DO YOU THINK SHOULD HAVE BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK N’ ROLL HALL OF FAME AND HAVE NOT BEEN YET OR YOU FEEL HAVE BEEN SNUBBED?
Agreed Dana. What a tremendous guitarist who made the biggest Whitesnake album such an amazing record. And Blue Murder simply kicked ass and showed what a truly well rounded recording artist he was. Then beyond that he seemed to be a pretty successful in the business side of the music world. As I posted on the other thread, I want to mention a couple of artists that didn’t get talked about on Eddie’s rock hall snub show. I just want to throw out there that it’s really dumb that the Motor City Madman is not in the hall. Ted would probably say that he’s not in it because the rock hall simply can’t handle him, and he’s probably right. Triumph is another band that deserves that recognition. Rik Emmett is an incredible guitarist and songwriter, they had many huge hits, and anyone that caught a Triumph show in the late 70s and early 80s knows that they put on one of the best concerts of that era. Lastly, like Eddie and I’m sure everyone on this site, Ronnie James Dio should definitely be in the hall. He clearly deserves to be in based on his solo career alone, but the fact that they inducted Black Sabbath WITHOUT Dio is, IMO, the single greatest indictment of the intelligence and competency of those on the selection committee. I mean, you let in Blaze Bayley with Iron Maiden, but not Dio with Black Sabbath? Really? WTF?
RJD should be in, but the rock hall snobs have zero clue about what defines rock.
I have mentioned Uncle Ted for years, he should have been in years ago, biggest snub by far so far, but unfortunately the reality is he’ll never get in, and we all know why. I have also mentioned Triumph as well, they’ve always been so underrated, and underappreciated! Another Canadian rocker who should be in – Bryan Adams! In the 80’s he was just as big as anybody, or close! Sold over 70 million albums worldwide, helped revive KI⚡️⚡️ in the early 80’s, influenced dozens and dozens of artists, etc! Many more snubs, but the other one at the top of my list – Alice In Chains! How the hell are they not in?? Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden are all in, but in my opinion the biggest and best band from the 90’s era are not in? WTF?? Have to mention STP as well, they are also deserving and overdue to be in the HOF! I could go on and on and mention at least another dozen or more snubs, but what’s the point? Nobody from the R&RHOF reads these posts (or cares) anyway!
– But, just in case someone from the R&RHOF is reading this, I got 1 more for ya – STYX!
Dr Hook and the Medicine Show. They made videos performing their hits in a NJ loft……..which should ALL be up for MTV Video Awards.
